Friday Fill-In!
From Megs:
I'm addicted to... Coffee and sugar, especially sugar in my coffee
My dream house... is clean and has no teenagers in it
Last night... I watched VH1 - Top 10 shortest Hollywood marriages, Top 40 worst DIRRTY songs, and then switched to FUSE to watch... Pants Off Dance Off... I am telling you, I was missing QUALITY TV for two years people.
There's nothing wrong with... WRITING ABOUT SEX IN YOUR JOURNAL
When I was a kid... I was well behaved, got good grades, obeyed my parents and hated sports. I was the opposite of my kids. In fact, my kids probably would have kicked my ass, haha.
This weekend I shall... Go to a swim meet, then to Aptos for rest and reading.

Friday - er, Monday Questions
Well, I remember being ready to get the Friday Questions from Meg when I got to work last Friday, but I just looked at Rachael's blog and realize that I totally forgot them. So I'm going to do them today. Better late than not at all, eh?
My next pet will be named... Lord, please no more pets.
This weekend I plan to... this coming weekend? Swim in a class that has a coach there to open the pool, go to Scott's house, rest from midterms. Well, there's one more after that.
Breakfast was... today it was a sausage/egg burritto from the cafeteria - but it was so huge I only ate half of it.
Last night at 8pm I was... frantically reading Stone Butch Blues so I could take my test before the 11:55pm due date, while Wallace & Gromit shorts were playing on TV.
I deal with stress by... Avoiding it. If I can't avoid it, I will shut down and become Robot Woman and just get done what needs to get done. The emotional collapse can come later.
I forgot... to bring my professor's phone number to work so I can call her and get the essay assignment that is due Thursday.

Meg's Friday Questions
What your favorite movie that you've seen so far this year?
Okay this is hard because I've seen hecka movies this year. I would have to go with Crash, I think. I did love Brokeback Mountain, and I loved Capote, but I think Crash was one I would (and have) watch over and over.
Favorite new musical artist?
Black Eyed Peas - I don't care if they're not considered new, they're the newest group that I like.
Jennifer or Angelina?
I'm sure Jennifer is very nice, but I love Angelina.
How often do you check your email?
Ummm... every five or ten minutes?
What are your plans for the weekend?
Swimming Saturday Morning, Gym on Sunday, get stuff together for my mom's estate, and show my son how to use the Light Rail system so he can get to his Cinequest movies on his own.
Oh, and I have an essay due Sunday evening. I need to remember that.

Friday Questions from Megs
When you think about the next 10 years what are you most excited about?
Honestly, I'm looking forward to living my own life again and playing with grandkids.
Do you wear jewelry every day?? What kind??
I don't wear anything but a sports watch every day.
Do you prefer writing in pen or pencil? if ink, what color?
I prefer to type if at all possible. Otherwise, I prefer a mechanical pencil.
What's your skin regime?
In the shower wash with an Oil of Olay bar of soap. Then, if I remember, I have some L'Oreal cream that I put on, but I only remember sometimes.
What kind of shampoo do you use?
Now I have some new Dove shampoo for thick, colored hair. I like it a lot.
What's your favorite TV show?
Gosh. I like a lot. Heck, I'm listing them all:
The Amazing Race
Survivor
The Apprentice
Project Runway
Deadwood
Rescue Me
The L Word
And since we have mostly no TV, I only can watch those on dvd. WAAAHHHHH
What are your plans for the weekend?
Today I have THE DAY OFF!!! Tomorrow morning I have Swimming at school, and then it's off to Aptos. However, most of the weekend will be spent cramming in half my English Lit book that hasn't been receiving a lot of attention, but I have a midterm on Tuesday. *gulp*

Pischina is:
I stole this from Catie, and mine came out almost too embarrassing to post here, but on the other hand, it's going to make Charleen laugh so hard she'll pee her pants, so therefore I have to share it:
- Apples are covered with a thin layer of Pischina.
- All gondolas in Venice must be painted black unless they belong to Pischina!
- Pischina is the largest of Saturn's moons.
- Pischina is actually a fruit, not a vegetable.
- The average human spends about 30 days during their life in Pischina.
- During severe windstorms, Pischina may sway several feet to either side.
- Pischina can clean her ears with her tongue, which is over thirty-nine inches long.
- It is impossible to fold Pischina more than seven times!
- The condom - originally made from Pischina - was invented in the early 1500s!
- It took Pischina 22 years to build the Taj Mahal.

Yeah, this is about right... except for the eunuch part...
|
You Are 40% Boyish and 60% Girlish
|
You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

Pretty good Quizzy thing:
Borrowed from GoldieKnox who borrowed it from BettyAlready:
Using Mapquest, how many miles is it from your house to your parents' house?
Total Est. Time: 20 minutes Total Est. Distance: 2.19 miles
Since when does it take 20 minutes to drive 2.19 miles??? Well. Not even when you actually follow that blasted 30 mph law throughout the "retirement community" my parents live in does it take me 20 minutes to get to her house. It's two miles away, People.
Google your first and last name, in quotes. How many results were found?
26. Three of them are actually me: One from my job website, and two are racing results (running). Apparently I'm also in the UT Texas Longhorn band, received an Honor's Scholarship to DeVry University, and ran some marathons (NOT!). Also, I'm a second grader who escaped a burning house. I'm thinking you shouldn't name your child after me because people with my name are doomed to have their house burned down, heh.
What room in your house is too small?
I thought and thought, and really? None. It's not a huge house, but it's roomy enough. I guess you could always have a bigger kitchen, yeah, I'd choose a bigger kitchen.
What room is too large?
None. It's not *that* big of a house, eh.
Name of your third grade teacher:
Mr. Pence. Rumor has it he was Gay. I LOVED that man. Even after he made me stand with my nose in the corner for talking. He was one of my favorite teachers EVER.
How much money did you make at your first job?
$3.15 an hour. Just in time for my raise the minimum wage was increased to $3.35. Which my raise equaled. How convenient. (And by the way? I thought I was in the bucks, man. $75 for a week of work? WHOOOOO!)
Favorite donut:
Apple fritter, every time.
Name(s) of your next door neighbor(s):
At the old burned up house, I knew all the neighbors on my street. Here? None. Across the street lives David's grandparents, but I don't know their name. Next door lives a girl Spike went to school with, I don't remember her name. One the other side is a really little girl whose name escapes me. Two house down live the evil girls that Buffy sometimes hang out with. I know their names but won't post them here. Other than those two, I know no one's names. Oh, a cat named Nikki lives across the street and loves to come into my house, does that count?
Genre of music you can't stand:
Anything AC/DC. Sorry AC/DC fans.
Last thing bid on on ebay:
My Environmental Science book.
How much cash is in your wallet:
Cash? Dude, I only have some quarters left over from the laundromat.

Personally I'd never go back
High School Survey, Borrowed from Mocksie:
You're a freshman. What year is it?
1980 - 1981
What were your three favorite bands?
For all of high school, right? I still loved The Beatles, and as far as bands go, I liked Air Supply and Journey.
What was your favorite outfit?
I loved all my pleated dress pants, and my favorite shirt was a sky blue blouse with tuxedo shirt pleats and a black ribbon around the collar.
Trust me, in 1983 it was cool.
What was up with your hair?
Aqua net, that's what. I got up 90 minutes early just to wash it, blow dry it, and painstakingly curl every single strand of hair back, comb it feathered back to Perfection, and shellaq it with Aqua Net.
Sorry, I don't know how to spell shellaque, whatever.
Who were your best friends?
Charleen and Renee. Sometimes Tricia. That's it as far as best friends.
What did you do after school?
Oh, BAND PRACTICE. And MORE Band Practice. And MORE. And MORE.
Where did you work?
I didn't get a job until I finished high school. As soon as I graduated I got a job at Petrie's clothing store.
Did you take the bus?
Nope, I walked the mile or two carrying a tenor saxaphone the whole way. My junior year I had my license and could drive, except for periods of time after I had wrecked the car/truck.
Who did you have a crush on?
Paul M. Everyone had a crush on Paul M.
Did you fight with your parents?
Fight? Hell no. I had never been hit by them, other than spankings as a small child, but I'm pretty sure I would have been hit if I had talked back as a teenager.
Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?
Heh. Michael Jackson. Stop laughing. It was the BLACK Michael Jackson. He was cool. I swear. Stop laughing now.
Did you smoke cigarettes?
Nope, never smoked a cigarette in my life.
Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?
HAH! This is where there's a big difference from when I was in high school. Only dweebs and nerds had backpacks when I was in high school!!! Usually not even THEY were dweeby enough to have a backpack! We ALWAYS used our lockers and carried our books by hand. These days high schools around here don't even provide lockers.
Did you have a 'clique'?
I had lots of cliques, usually organized around band members. Charleen/Renee/Tricia/Jill/Louie. Eric/Robert/Robert/Sherwin. Filipino girls in the library who hid me out when crazy Darlene wanted to kill me for... whatever, I never even LOOKED at her boyfriend, and in that instance it was the truth!
Did you have a "Max" like Zach, Kelly and Slater?
What the hell is this question about???
Admit it, were you popular?
I was probably as popular as a band member gets. I actually was more popular than I wanted to be - I was a quiet, book & music (and boy) loving girl, and I didn't like to be around people ALL THE FREAKING TIME, but wherever I was, there were little geeky boys wanting to sit with me. No, I don't think I was popular. But I was liked well enough.
Who did you want to be just like?
Hmmmm... I kinda liked myself... but I also wanted to be popular like Julie C. who ran cross country and was nice, Valerie who I hated but all the boys somehow thought she had fantastic legs (Whatever!), or Yvette who wasn't really pretty at all but still was wildly popular.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A musician or a writer.

Two china bowls from Japan, one holds cotton balls one holds Q-tips.
My "love sticks" that Anenigma sent me.

Blogger Quiz
I got this quiz at Reality's, and I thought I would do it too. The only thing is, I can't open two windows at a time, so I cannot link to everyone. But all the people I mention are over on my blogroll on the bottom right.
1. What blogger inspired you to FINALLY start a blog?
I really really don't remember. I would think probably Kim, but I don't remember... was I the first of our little "group"?
2. What blog do you visit the most often everday?
Every single day I visit Itsy, Lanie, Megs, Mocksie and Kim.
3. What blogger do you think you have the most in common with?
Ummmm... Oh probably like Bisa, Maggie, Monica, Murphy and Annie... I mean if you're going to talk "in common", I guess that would be someone with kids, or divorced, etc.
4. Which blog can you be sure will make you laugh hard?
Usually Itsy. And Murphy.
5. Which blogger leaves you the best/funniest comments?
I love every single comment I get, not matter who from, more than you could know.
6. What blogger do you wish would update more often?
Itsy, Lanie and Kim
7. Which blog do you wish more people would read?
Well how do I know who reads whose blog?
8. Which blog do you learn the most from?
I'm not sure I learn from anyone's blog. What I enjoy the most is watching us all grow up. Look at how different the lives of us old-time bloggers are: Me, Itsy, Shanni, Megs, Kim... Now we need a new life for Lanie too.
9. What blog is your newest addition?
I don't have time for new blogs anymore, I barely have time for my blogroll as it is!
10. Who has been on your blogroll the longest?
Probably Kim, Shannie, Megs, Lanie and Itsy.
11. Whose blogroll would you LOVE to find yourself on?
Oh probably anyone who gets to write for Television Without Pity, heh.
12. Whose blogroll were you the happiest to find yourself on?
I think I'm on everyone's blog that I'm friends with. I look up to Liam a lot and am always thrilled when he comments, that's the only one I guess I would want to be on that I'm not.
13. If you could write like any blogger, who would it be?
Oh jeez, I'm happy being who I am - It wouldn't be my blog if I wrote like someone else.
14. What blogger are you the happiest you’ve met?
Well I've met Shanni and Traceee in real life, and I adore those two. As far as meeting online, then Kim, Lanie, Megs, Mocksie and Itsy.
15. Which blog do you recommend the most?
Megs, Itsy, Chip, Anna, Mocksie
16. Who is the next person you’ll add to your blogroll?
Sorry, probably no new additions.
17. Who is the blogger you hope to meet in real life?
Itsy, Kim, Lanie, Chip, Megs, Bonky, Mocksie
18. Which blogger you admire the most?
Bonky, Mocksie and Sabby
19. Who would you trust with your blog while you were away?
Itsy, Megs and Kim - although I'd really trust any of ya'll.
20. Which blog has your favorite design?
Shanni and Megs always have the best - OH, and Traceee has some great ones too!
21. How many blogs are on your blogroll(s)?
Don't know, can't open another window to count, just look down on the right.
Okay, what I learned from that quiz: I have my own little group of friends, and that's why I like reading those blogs. I love and trust and enjoy everyone on my blogroll, otherwise you wouldn't be on there! And even though I mentioned a few of you over and over - that's because they've been my friends the longest, I'm closest to them. But like I said, if I didn't like you you wouldn't be on my list.

'Nother one of them question thingies for when you don't have anything else to say
I somehow missed ever seeing this in Meg's blog, but I found it at Sky-Pie's, so here are my answers:
1. What is the "theme" on your calendar this year? One of those Sandra Boynton thingies that the kids bought for me.
2. Do you read the newspaper every day? When I didn't have to work, I did. But now I have too many other things going on during the day.
3. What kind of shoes are you wearing right now? Shoes? Are you kidding? I don't wear any shoes when I don't have to. And since they instituted the "no open-toe shoes" rule at work my feet have been shoeless as much as possible.
Including at work, heee.
4. What magazines do you subscribe to? Interview. Biography. And American Girl for Buffy.
5. What is your favorite condiment? Mustard! EXTRA Mustard!
6. What was the first occupation you remember wanting to have? I've wanted to be a writer from as far back as second grade.
7. Are you a green thumb? Am I a green thumb? Or do I have a green thumb? Well, when I have time I have a green thumb, but indoor plants are all eaten by the cats, and I don't have much time or money anymore to put into the garden.
8. Did you have an imaginary friend when you were little? No. No I did not.
9. Do you floss regularly? I probably floss more than any three people you know combined.
10. If you could still hang posters of celebrities on your walls and get away with it like when you were 12, who would be on your walls right now? Who told you I have pictures of Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey and Sherilyn Fenn in my bedroom? I wouldn't mind a pic of Sting either.
13. Do you keep shoe boxes or throw them away? For my good dress shoes I keep them.
14. Would you be embarassed if someone looked under your bed? Nope, it's the cleanest spot in the house, perfectly empty!
15. If you could be one character in book, who would you be? Probably Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn.
16. What do you sleep in? NOTHING, duh.
17. What is your favorite word? Proposal, haha.

Easter Quiz
I'm making my own Easter Quiz. You all fill it out and tell me if you did.
1. Do you go to church on Easter? Usually, yes. Today we were too tired from yesterday and I'm still not feeling great, so we voted to stay home and relax.
2. Did you parents always get you a basket? Until what age? I think my parents got me a basket until I moved out, when I was 21. I told Buffy yesterday that she'll continue to get one as long as she lives here.
3. Do you color eggs? How many this year? Yes, we ALWAYS color them. I get 12-18 eggs for each kid, and 2 different coloring boxes. We love boiled eggs and egg sandwiches, so no eggs go to waste.
4. Do you have Easter Egg hunts still? Yep, the kids LOVE hunts. I give the the plastic eggs and they spend all morning hiding them for each other. Sometimes we put our extra change inside them for a bonus.
5. Easter Grass: Fun or Evil? EVIL. We NEVER have grass in our baskets.
6. Jelly Beans: Yummy or A Waste of Basket Space? WASTE. When I was a kid jelly beans would just piss me off. They could have been malted milk balls! M&Ms!! Anything but jelly beans!!! They were like the price you had to pay to get your basket.
7. Peeps: Your Favorite or Gross & Disgusting? I hate peeps. Totally. My kids love them though.
8. Cadbury Eggs: Your Favorite or Gross & Disgusting? FAVORITE. All that sugar now hurts my teeth though.
9. Do you get new clothes to wear on Easter? Sometimes, yes. Sometimes the money issue prevents us, but we always dress nice.
10. What are you having for dinner tonight? My mom is making LASAGNA!!!
Bonus Post an Easter Picture if you are able.

HOW BORING!!!
I taste like Bread.
I am a staple in almost everyone's diet. Friends like me are a complement to any other friends I get on with almost everyone, remaining mostly in the background, but providing substance when it would otherwise be lacking. What Flavour Are You?

My Movie Rating... ?
What does this mean?
Suitable for 15 years or older. Films in this category can be about anything, say 'fuck' a lot, probably get to see all sorts of guns and shooting, but no open heart surgery with a knife. Most 'R' rated films in America fit into this category.
Examples: Alien, The Sixth Sense

More Quiz!
Because my life is currently boring.
Borrowed from Simplify:
What is the middle name of the first person you ever slept with? How about the last person I've slept with? heh. That name would be Scott (yeah, his first name is different).
What kind of underwear are you wearing and what color? Cotton bikini... Amazing, they are white today.
What is the song you want played at your funeral? "Don't cry for me Argentina". Heh. No, I don't know.
What would your last meal be before getting executed? Pepperoni Pizza, Taco Bell Taco Salad, KFC original recipe, spaghetti with sausage, and a really good spinach salad. And I'd eat it all reeeeeeeally slow.
Beatles or Stones? Beatles
If you had to pick one person on earth who should die, who would it be? Someone who's suffering really badly from cancer and has no medical insurance and no one who can help (per his wishes) to end his life.
The person whose problems you would never want to hear again? Nicole Richie's.
What is the thing most important to you (as far as physical) about the preferred sex? That they can laugh at me.
If you could have any super power what would it be? Invisibility
Favorite hangover cure? I don't drink enough to have hangovers anymore, but I used to take a lot of Tylenols and Vitamin Cs.
How many drinks does it take to get you drunk? Depends what kind of drink. But at least five within an hour.
Favorite Outkast lyric? Okay, I only know that one song, plus one from the TombRaider soundtrack - I don't know any specific lyric. I'm 37, People.
Hair color you most like someone you're dating to have? Well that will now and forever be Red.
If you had to be blind or deaf? Then I would be really really unhappy.
Do you have any psychiatric problems? Absolutely not!
Siblings that should go to rehab? I don't care where she is as long as it's away from me.
Least favorite month? March.
First movie you can remember seeing as a kid? Bambi
Favorite person in the whole world? My kids.
When's the last time you went on a date? Saturday
Do you like violent movies or dirty movies? I don't like violence so much. Dirty is okay...
Fall or spring? Well those are the two best seasons, right?
Person you most wish you hadn't made out with? Oh man I just strained my brain trying to go through all the men I've made out with. Making out is fun. Why regret it?
If you are straight, what person of the same sex would you do it with? Jodie Foster
Where do you want to live when you are old and brittle? Aptos. In a nice little house with peace and quiet and lots of books.
Who is the person you can count on most? My son Spike.
If you could date any celebrity past or present, time and age are not factors? Sting
What books have you pretended you've read? That is just ridiculous. I'm going to hunt down anyone who takes this quiz and see who's faking books.
What's a word you would use to describe your life? Whacky.
What did you dream last night? I dreamt our Sales Girl gave me her green convertible even though she thought her husband was going to be mad at her, and then when I test drove it it wasn't an automatic and the brakes weren't that good, and it didn't have power windows and I thought "well no wonder she doesn't want it" but still I was happy.
I was totally bummed when I woke up.
Also, that woman hates me in real life, she would never give me a car, heh.
Favorite bands? SmashMouth.

My Color
This quiz was actually pretty fun and interesting, and the results are RIGHT ON.
you are deeppink #FF1493 | Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind. You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing.
Your saturation level is high - you get into life and have a strong personality. Everyone you meet will either love you or hate you - either way, your goal is to get them to change the world with you. You are very hard working and don't have much patience for people without your initiative.
Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.
