Phoebe the Kitten has figured out how to get on TOP of the bird cage
(The bird isn't scared and can take care of herself)
Not even Pischina-Kitty has ever gotten on TOP of the bird cage.
I would be worried that Phoebe will teach Pischina-Kitty some bad tricks
But Pischina-Kitty is currently hiding in my bedroom
And hasn't come out since Phoebe arrived yesterday.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! I
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!
I was just sitting here watching MTV's "Made", only I wasn't exactly watching, just listening while reading stuff on the computer.
It's the one where the girl Cynthia wants to be a football player on her high school team.
And then I looked up at the TV screen and thought:
"Hey, that looks like my high school, heh.
Huh... that looks a LOT like my high school.
Like... exACTLY like... I think..."
And then I glimpsed the football jerseys,
SILVER CREEK RAIDERS.
"THAT'S MY HIGH SCHOOL!!! THAT'S THE FIELD WHERE I SPENT FOUR YEARS OF MY LIFE IN BAND PRACTICE!! THAT'S ABORN ROAD! THAT'S THE CHIROPRACTOR DOWN THE STREET! THAT'S THE FIELD WHERE I RUN SPRINTS!!"
Yup, it's my high school, just down the street.
So if you see that show, know that I not only spent four years of my life on that very field and pass it on my way to work every day, but every shot out of the high school is my neighborhood area, AND I'm 99% certain my ex-mother-in-law knows that girl's mother. The mother AND Cynthia look way too familiar.
Cool.

You all can't wait to hear if I ran this weekend, right?
Saturday went to the gym and ran 2 miles in 25 minutes (the treadmill has you walk the first 2 minutes)
Then lifted weights for about 45 minutes.
Sunday I told Scott I wanted to run instead of going to kung-fu,
So I ran up and down Freedom Boulevard
A BEAUTIFUL road through the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Three miles in 35 minutes, plus quite a bit of hiking up and down the hill Scott lives on.
Then I joined the kung-fu class in time to practice my tai chi and ended with 20 minutes of kung-fu stances (not not not an easy thing).
I am absolutely proud of myself.

I saw that Cat
I saw that Cat In the Hat trailer the other day and felt like I'd gotten a needle injected sugar high.
But seeing that goldfish reminded me of a story our Office Manager had just told me.
She has a 5 year old son and had recently bought a goldfish for her fish tank.
She had noticed it was often wet around the tank but she couldn't find a leak anywhere and just didn't really think about it that hard.
Until a neighbor kid came to play with her son one day.
Neighbor Kid came back to ask the mom "Is Kyle allowed to play with the goldfish?"
No....
"Well he is."
She went to Kyle's room and he had the goldfish out ON THE DESK,
playing with it.
The fish died the next day.
Can you imagine that poor fish's last month of life?

So today I was driving home in a good mood cuz everything had gone my way AND I was appreciated at work today
But some crappy song was playing on the radio so I shut it off and called RaevynLunatic.
A man answered.
Me: Thinking - "Uh oh, What's her NAME? Her real name???"
Me: Saying - "Hi... Is..... Rae home?"
Man: "HELLOO???"
I asked for Rae again and he gave her the phone (Luckily that's her real name, hah!)
"Hi, it's Pischina!"
What followed was a scream the likes you hear when Bob Barker tells you to "Come on DOWWWN!"
Anyway, we had a very nice conversation and the drive home flew by.
Rae fed her family hot dogs for dinner.
I fed mine cereal. Hey, that's what they wanted!
Anyway, don't believe what they say,
I do NOT giggle.
And Rae was very very nice and friendly, she seemed like a very fun person!

We had a good
We had a good day.
Got up late, nixed church and went off to Aptos.
First stop, the health food store where Buffy got to buy her Koala Krispies,
Then the coffee shop.
While drinking our juice and coffee we looked through one of those Homes magazines (where they show homes for sale) and Spike and Buffy went nuts shopping for a house in Aptos for us to buy.
At one point Buffy says "No not that one, it's not quite in our budget."
"Um... what exactly IS our budget?" I asked.
"I would say... under $400,000."
Yeah, I would say WAAAAAAAY under $400,000.
Then we went to Aptos High School and walked around the huge graffitti-free campus.
Finally, Scott's house. We took him back off to the coffee shop where we had ham&cheese croissants (Buffy), raspberrie smoothie (Spike), potatoe & pesto quiche (me) and a breakfast burrito (Scott).
And off to the pumpkin patch.
We each picked one out,
Buffy got a teeny tiny pumpkin,
I got a fat squashed down reddish orange pumpkin,
Scott got a normal round pumpkin
And Spike got a long tall pumpkin.
On the way back home Scott wanted to look at the high school himself
(it's only 1/2 mile from his house)

You are Form 0, Phoenix: The Eternal.
"And The Phoenix's cycle had reached
zenith, so he consumed himself in fire. He
emerged from his own ashes, to be forever
immortal."
Some examples of the Phoenix Form are Quetzalcoatl
(Aztec), Shiva (Indian), and Ra-Atum
(Egyptian).
The Phoenix is associated with the concept of life,
the number 0, and the element of fire.
His sign is the eclipsed sun.
As a member of Form 0, you are a determined
individual. You tend to keep your sense of
optomism, even through tough times and have a
positive outlook on most situations. You have
a way of looking at going through life as a
journey that you can constantly learn from.
Phoenixes are the best friends to have because
they cheer people up easily.

I went to work
I went to work today and everybody loved my purple hair.
Of course, most of them are nasty lieing bitches, heh, but I'll pretend for now that they really do love my hair.
And I realized that it may not be Clairol's fault - I was blaming them because there is NO color even close to purple on the box.
But the dye is actually for brown hair, and while my hair is mostly brown, it also streaks very very blonde in the summer.
And that's where it's purple, right where those streaks were.
So if you have blonde or very light brown hair,
Stay away from "Rosewood" Natural Instincts.
Unless, of course, you WANT purple streaked hair.
Buffy, now that she's stopped laughing, wants her own hair dyed that color.
Now, do I do it before she takes school pictures or after?
Yeah, I am that kind of Mom.
We'll probaby do it this weekend.

I bought some Oxy-Clean
I bought some Oxy-Clean today for the first time.
I should have gotten some long ago, I am just too messy to live without some special cleaner.
A little over a year ago most of my white shirts/blouses (and most of them ARE white) were turned dark pink at the laundromat.
Then the fire burned up the laundry room while I was washing, yes, my white shirts and blouses.
Then today, wearing one of my only 2 white shirts I have left,
I spilled my Togo's BBQ Beef sandwich all over my shirt and pants
(It was SO worth it, I didn't even care, what's a little mess at work when your belly's full of BBQ Beef?)
And then at dinner I spilled more spaghetti noodles all over myself - but I'm only wearing my work out clothes, so that's okay.
I'm just saying, Me and Oxy-Clean should have met up a long time ago.

AND,
A T-Shirt that said "Madonna in Training" on the back,
"Like a Virgin" in front,
A construction paper sign she pinned on her shirt saying in black marker "Like a Virgin"
(Why we have to repeat this twice on one side of her shirt, I don't know)
AND
A blinking lighted star pinned RIGHT ON HER NIPPLE.
So yeah, that's Princess Missy.

Also, one step closer
Also, one step closer to buying Wedding Announcements:
We were driving around Open Studios and Scott was wishing that he too could quit his day job and just get paid for making beautiful furniture.
"Maybe one day I'll have a famous writer for a wife and she'll support me so I could work in my shop," he said wistfully.
"Well maybe one day you will," I said.
(WAIT a minute, I thought, Did he say WIFE? WIFE? He said WIFE not Girlfriend, right? He said the Code Word, WIFE)
"Of course," I added, "First you have to decide you want to get married again."
He looked at me and I gave him my innocent look back.
He started laughing nervously.
I started laughing with an innocent smirk on my face.
He saw the smirk and started laughing harder.
I laughed harder too, still with an "I caught you" grin.
Finally I said "Okay, you can stop laughing now."
And he started joking about how when I was a famous writer then I wouldn't WANT to marry him, but I'd probably still send him to his shop to make me a jewelry box, and he better use the GOOD wood, and not the wood from the scrap heap...
*****
It was a step closer. And it was funny.

This weekend was mostly
This weekend was mostly spent (after I dyed my hair purple and we saw Kill Bill) going to Open Studios. This is where you look at a huge map of the Santa Cruz area where hundreds of artists live and the artists open their homes to you so you can come see their work.
Literally hundreds, so since Scott has a woodshop and is very into that sort of thing, we picked out all the wood and furniture artists. All the artists were really nice, and some were very interesting. Some even served wine and cheese and crackers, apples fresh from the farm next door, m&m's, fresh garden tomatoes, etc.
We saw everything from a man who was charging $1200 for a little jewelry box to a lady who pounded layers of copper onto garage sale furniture, to a guy who had a barn filled with industrial size woodworking tools yet all he made was $200 FISHING NETS ("Well I haven't sold any yet, quit my day job last year and pretty much used up my life savings.")
Then we saw Matthew Werner's furniture which was very beautiful, waaaaaaaaaaay more beautiful than the pictures can show, yet again, $175 for a napkin holder, and his music stands, though absolutely gorgeous, were $1200 and up.
But our highlight of the weekend was meeting Mr. Vern Bowie who made the most gorgeous furniture I've ever seen. I can't find a better link to him which is really too bad cuz this guy was amazing. And just such a great guy! His wife is a painter too (scroll down in that link for a painting she did of him, and her photo). He's 73 and looks about 50. African American with the most delicious chocolate colored skin, his wife and he ran their own business PLUS 3 restaurants during their life, then made enough to retire and they make enough doing what they love to live a very nice life. Beautiful house, beautiful furniture and artwork too of course.
We left that house just in love with the couple, I swear Scott wants to invite them to dinner and make them our friends.
I wouldn't mind a bit either.

It went something like that, haha. But actually I ended up with a really great dinner.
I mixed the turkey all up like a meat loaf, with garlic teryaki sauce, eggs, herb & garlic seasonings, bread crumbs and wheat germ.
Then I filled the muffin pan with them!!!
With barbecue sauce on top!
I made little muffin meat loafs and they were SOOOOOO good!
We called them "Meat Muffins", hee hee heeeeee
Then we had rice, and corn bread, and a corn & black bean mixture.

Buffy finally dragged me
Buffy finally dragged me out the door to go running.
We did one .8 mile loop,
And added another block to it,
So I'm not sure how far, but it was close to 1.5 miles total.
Took us about 15 minutes and we had a great time,
Buffy ran right out to the back yard and started jumping rope.
I, of course, ran straight to the computer and sat down, haha.
So today that makes 20 minutes gym, 15 minutes running.
A week from Monday is my next weigh and measure day,
I can't wait!

You guys are boring.
You guys are boring.
I finally get full custody of my own computer and ya'll decide not to post, comment, write entries,
You've ALL ABANDONED me!!!
So we're going to do chores.
Spike is pretending to be dead on the floor right now, he's going to get some ice water on his head in a minute.
My chores are:
Laundry
Dishes
Pull up summer flowers
Sweep kitchen and dining room
Clean back patio
Dig up 1/2 the vegetable garden.
You guys haven't commented on anything today and NO ONE (???) knows who Kilgore Trout is,
So off I go to do my stuff.

I went to Curves, Princess Missy was NOT THERE, Hurray! A whole week without seeing her little tiara!
"Queen Christie" was there instead, kid you not.
I guess she's the actual owner of this Curves.
She didn't bug me as much, even though she wore a headband with pink fuzzy antennaes on it,
But then again, I've learned to lie and yell "YELLOW" when we take our pulse.

Evil boyfriend or no, I can't get to Texas in two weeks.

Oh, and I would just like to say how PROUD I am to be a Californian today, as we have the biggest, baddest Governor in the United States right now, He is going to PUMP us UP, and TERMINATE our debt, and he has ALL the answers and you all are just out of luck because you can't have him for YOUR governor.
Of course, he hasn't exactly said what it is he's going to do, but I'm sure someone will write a script real soon and then he'll figure it out.
I am just so so thrilled, and...

While I'm ranting, might
While I'm ranting, might I add that I'm not afraid to admit I laughed when I heard about the tiger attacking Roy.
Then I was horrified,
And then again I chuckled and thought "About time".
I don't value animals over people, but I don't think wild animals such as lions and tigers have any place in these circus acts.
No, it doesn't save their lives, there are plenty of sanctuaries they can be released to.
I think it's horrible that Roy got hurt...
But it was only a matter of time and a small part of my heart thinks he deserves it.
It makes me feel bad that I think that, but that doesn't change what I think.
Posted by Pischina at 9:50 PM
For those who don't
For those who don't want to read my political rant, but would rather read a very funny account of a reporter going undercover into Arnold's campaign headquarters, read this article from the Santa Cruz Metro.
It's really very funny.

Well, I was asked,
Well, I was asked, so here's my version, "in a nutshell", why we are having a recall election:
Please excuse errors like name spellings.
First, some guy by the name of Clark(?) I think, decided Governor Gray Davis was responsible for a lot of the bad things happening in California, so he started the recall. It wasn't going anywhere though, so a Republican named Darrell Issa stepped in and donated $20Million of his own cash to get the recall rolling. He also decided he might like to run for governor himself. If not for him, it wouldn't have happened. So the recall was on, Issa was running and the frontrunner, and then Schwartzenblatz joined the race, the press went mad, Issa cried and dropped out, California is now a laughing stock.
That's the nutshell version.
There are a lot of really sad issues here.
Gray Davis isn't even to blame for most of the things wrong here, he inherited them from previous governors. The energy crisis is the result of stupid Californian voters who thought deregulation would bring them better prices - WHICH IT NEVER HAS FOR ANY INDUSTRY YET. Schools have suffered since Prop 13 and will continue to do so. Nothing will change unless taxes are raised. The main reason we're suffering here is the main reason all of America is suffering - we're going through a recession brought on by 9/11. It may *seem* worse for us living in California because we were quite a wealthy state due to the dot com industry previous to 9/11. That industry crashed and now we're left picking up the pieces. Not Gray Davis' fault - just the way life rolled the dice.
I will say Governor Davis probably could have reacted a bit sooner to some of these crises, or been more vocal about trying to help out instead of seeming to hide his head in the sand.
But there is no way anyone else elected will be able to fix the problems we have in this short of a time. And the very possibility that we will be voting this muscle-bound not-very-good ACTOR to be governor just infuriates me.
And really, it's now the fault of the press. Since the moment he declared his candidacy he's been on the front page. Why? Because he's a name that draws attention and SELLS PAPERS. Then his name is more well known, and it's a vicious circle of more papers sold = more publicity for Ahnold = more papers sold.
What really makes me mad is how quickly the election is being held. There has been NO TIME to sort out potential candidates, no time to weed out the bad from the good. Tomorrow we will very likely elect Arnold as our Governor.
That's my personal view as a Liberal Santa Cruz Hippie Democrat. Republicans I'm sure have their own opinion. My biggest gripe is with the entire voting public, NATIONALLY. No one thinks for themselves, no one reads up on their own, no one tries to educate themselves, everyone WATCHES TV AND VOTES WHAT THE TV SAYS TO. People need to START USING THEIR HEADS and then actually GO VOTE.
*****
Sorry, but I was asked.
And really, it does make SO MUCH sense to spend so many MILLIONS OF DOLLARS on this recall when California has SO MUCH extra money in the bank.
Maria Shriver, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Posted by Pischina at 8:23 PM
I finally got my
I finally got my new voting papers in the mail,
JUST IN TIME.
Now I don't have to sit around and let everyone else vote Schwartzennebbler for governor.
I get to have some say.
Dear God don't let Schwartzenubbly win.

A 1990 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible and a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD.
Both are white.
2. How long have you had it?
Convertible since New Years Day
The Jeep for a couple weeks.
3. What is the coolest feature on your vehicle?
The Chrysler: It's a Convertible!!!!
The Jeep: a windshield wiper for the back window
4. What is the most annoying thing about your vehicle?
The Chrysler: Sometimes it dies while driving it.
The Jeep: Sometimes it beeps and flashes that I have low windshield wiper fluid - a) the fluid is FULL, b) is it that important that it has to BEEP at me and scare me to death???
5. If money were no object, what vehicle would you be driving right now?
A convertible Jaguar, or a brand new convertible VW bug.

I have barely been able to wait for this, I hope it's good, I can't wait to see them walk the plank, can't wait to see them suffering, can't wait for the fighting, CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
Also, I start Curves tomorrow, and I am getting more and more excited about that, especially now that I personally know 3 people who go and love it there.
CAN'T WAIT!!!
Also, I got insurance and registered the Jeep today. It is MINE now!!!!
I will post picture soon.

It cracks me up every time I see it, because we were cracking up that whole afternoon.
And even though it's just a flicker in time to you all, I remember the moment very well, and it was a moment filled with love just like they all are.
I just LOVE that man!!!

Probably the first time I've ever heard him sound like that.
I know how he feels, I don't want to go to this wedding either, but it won't be as bad as he thinks, and I'll make sure he has a good time - or at least not an awful time.

Now I am off
Now I am off to Buffy's open house.
I was supposed to meet Buffy and Spike there with their dad,
But I'll give you one guess what the phone message I just got said.
Look through past journal entries to see if dad has EVER shown up at open house.
Aw yes, but he "does EVERYthing" for them, Remember?

This morning Spike was whining and wailing about having NO CLEAN SOCKS to wear, and I told him perhaps that was because he didn't put ANY DIRTY SOCKS or ANY OTHER PIECE OF CLOTHING out for me to wash last Friday.
(Because I do wash over the weekend only)
And lo and behold, I sitting here looking at a huge pile of dirty Spike socks piled up right next to the living room chair.
I guess they are sitting in some sort of invisible laundry basket,
Because I KNOW he hasn't just been leaving them on the floor like that...
Sometimes I think they do these things on purpose just because they know they'll be safe at their dad's house when I find out,
For instance there was also a big sloppy jar of jelly left on the counter today.
But then I remember,
No,
They do this stuff EVERY day.

In response to all
In response to all you who commenting on me being an "SUV Mom"
That is SO wrong!
First, I personally hate SUVs with a passion,
But this is a much smaller car, more like a jeep, not a big ole gas guzzler.
And we'll only be using it for beach trips, and my weekends to Aptos, you have to drive Highway 17 to get either place and thats a long windy dangerous mountain road, much better suited to the jeep than the convertible.
BigBoss is going to get the transmission serviced and the oil changed, then when I register it next week (after payday) I get to take it home.
Okay, I'm at work so I better skedaddle QUICK.

I got the Jeep!!!
BigBoss said it's a good thing I left the voicemails over the weekend cuz crewguy (and my archenemy) Louis asked for the jeep early this morning but Bigboss told him Nope, it's Pischina's!!!
bwahahahhahaaaaaa.....
Made the jeep even more sweet knowing I snaked it from Louis,
I know, I'm evil.
Anyway, we worked it out so payments will start after my loan is paid off,
Which is also after 401K is paid off,
and After Christmas,
So we will be all Fine by then!

Back home and feeling
Back home and feeling all better now.
We determined I was so sick because I hadn't eaten since lunch Friday, then I dumped that coffee and pesto bagel with cream cheese into my poor tummy, without my gallbladder it just couldn't handle it.
By lunch time I was feeling great.
And I had a great weekend.
Wrote a tiny bit in the diary, not much though.
It's back to work tomorrow,
But I'm kind of looking forward to it because I'll find out about the Jeep Cherokee.
The kids are super excited about it, they LOVE that jeep,
And we could use the extra room sometimes.
I only have 4 seatbelts in my car, and virtually NO trunk space.
So the jeep will be great.

Scott is teaching me
Scott is teaching me kung fu!!!
He is starting with tai chi, he said that's the best way to get the basics, but I am SO HONORED, I was afraid to ask him because I know he takes it so seriously and I didn't want him to think I was only interested because I like him, and I was scared that I wouldn't be good enough. But he's a GREAT teacher, and is letting me copy him from behind, I won't let him watch me yet until I can practice. He also said he'd let me go to class with him and he'd have his friend Linda teach me so I'd feel more comfortable.
I didn't even ask if he would teach me, he just offered last night. I was so happy and he seemed so happy that I wanted to learn.
I'm telling you, I'm going to marry that man one day, whether he likes it or not.

My stomach is NOT
My stomach is NOT a happy camper, let me tell you. And Mr.Holistic-Health-Scott probably has no pepto bismol in the cupboard, I'm sure he'll probably try to convince me to chew some tree bark or some dried up caterpillar heads. That's no joke, folks. Anyway, I'm about ready to say Bring on the tree bark if that will help my poor tummy.
I will NOT chew dead (or alive) caterpillars though.

Well it turns out
Well it turns out I have a few more minutes computer time before Scott comes back from class, so I'll continue updating for a sec.
I took a Benadryl this morning, my first time ever, because I have horrible allergies in Aptos that affect my contact lenses. And ever since then I've been having horrible stomach problems, as in, I need to keep close to a bathroom, very very close. Could this possibly be from the Benadryl? Is that a side effect? Because if so, I'd rather walk around blind and itchy.
I went to my Aptos coffee shop this morning and it seemed like 90% of the patrons were talking about their workout at Curves (which is right down the block from it).
Also I did my own little circuit training at Scott's school this morning to see how it went, pretty good actually. We'll see, I have a lot to think about still.
My company is selling off one of its company vehicles, a Jeep Cherokee with over 200,000 miles on it, but a brand new engine. For $4,500, payments accepted, and Scott was the last guy to drive it. He said he would help me buy it if need be, which you and he all know I won't let happen but it was very sweet for him to offer. But it would take a load off my mind, and also off my poor convertible, the poor car wanted to blow up sitting on highway 1 last night (40 minutes to drive 10 miles). If I split the driving between the two vehicles (jeep for Aptos, car for San Jose) both cars would last a lot longer. So I hope I can get it. My loans are paid off in December and payments on the jeep would be less than half of them, leaving me still with over $250 extra a month.
Okay, I think this post is going to be extremely long so I'll post for now.

I'm in Aptos today for the first time since Mommy Camp (except just for an afternoon) and I feel very relaxed again. I may have computer time later, but for now, back I go to relaxing.

Well, so far everyone
Well, so far everyone who has an opinion about Curves Gym says exactly what I feel,
(Meg, I wanted to walk out as soon as I walked in too!!!)
And I also agree that this is NOT HARD ENOUGH for me,
The only Big Pluses that are overriding the minuses are
The Location
And the fact that it WILL be a 30 minute workout 3 times a week.
I'm hoping it will just be a starting off point for me,
Then I can supplement it with the weight bench, and start running when I feel better.
I'm still looking for more opinions though!
I've given myself to September 18 to decide on Curves.
Thank you everyone!

We made $50 and cleaned the whole garage.
Today we visited Corina's BEAUTIFUL baby,
Then took Scott to see "The Medallion",
Thought it was a good weekend afternoon movie.
Then went to a thrift store in Aptos, bought Buffy a like-new pair of jeans and a pair of overalls for $6 total.
But then when we were almost home from Aptos the digital speedometer said we were going "0" mph,
And then the Check Engine light came on.
We were less than five minutes away from home so I kept driving,
The temperature was fine, no oil light, battery okay...
I don't even know what I'm supposed to check!
But now I'm stressed about it.

And I cannot bring myself to take her in to be put down.

She may die on her own, but I'll have no part of it myself, not right now.

But because you took the time to write it in your diaries the veil is lifted for the moment, and the readers can truly FEEL what you are feeling. And maybe, just maybe, you can take comfort in the fact that by sharing your words you can also share the weight that is on your heart, and even if we can't "fix" it, perhaps it helps a bit to know you're not alone in that pain."

Oh yeah, we have that blasted worm everyone has been talking about,
We were infected before I even heard about it,
It just shuts down the computer every so often
But only when we're hooked up to the internet.
It's a pain but not too terribly awful.
We'll get it fixed somehow.

Okay this is the second time in a row that MTV's "Made" has made me cry.
Last time it was that spoiled rich girly-girl, who I HATED, and she trained on BMX bikes, then actually landed a back flip in competition - only the second time a GIRL has done that in competition.
I LOVED that girl by the end of the show.
This week was the chubby couch-potato who whined through all his training to complete a sprint triathlon.
I was SO PROUD of him by the end of the show.
This is just a GREAT show for MTV, *I* think anyway.

On the other hand, this show about the people obsessed with their dogs, well, these people need some help, that's all I'm saying...

Well my best friend
Well my best friend Charlene finally found this place,
And she's happily reading through all the entries,
Saying she's going to kick my ass for some of the stuff she's reading.
"Hey!" I told her, "Do you know who you're talking to??? I'm the most beloved mother in America!!!"
(hahaha)
"Oh, I know EXACTLY who I'm talking to," she said laughing, "and I'm the only person in this world who knows all this shit is TRUE!"
Ahhh.... that's what best friends are for.
I always used her real name because I never cared if she found the diary, I just didn't have the guts to actually show her, heh.
She sounds like she's having a great time re-reading stories she's already heard in real life though.

B) My kids have melted chocolate chips into the carpet and it's a good thing they're spending the night at their dads or no one may ever see them again if I got my hands on them now.
C) My High School Class of 1984 opened their own MSN group so we can organize the 20 year (???????) Reunion, and I signed up at like 3pm and STILL haven't been accepted in yet, and I am getting IMPATIENT!!!!
D) According to Charlene, someone posted they had a major crush on my ex-husband in high school and I would love to post "Write me and I'll tell you where you can find all 350 pounds of him" but I probably won't. Probably.
E) I had one hell of a time trying to register on MSN since Spike has registered too and I guess he put "Always sign me in to this computer" because I absolutely could not sign him out of it and it kept asking me for a credit card to prove I'm a grown-up. Pshaw, I want to talk about my 20 year high school reunion, how freakin young do you think I am?????
F) I have blueberries in the freezer and I think I may make a blueberrie cobbler for dessert.

So we've not only been able to cook yummy dinners again,
But we've had the energy to clean house.
And the house is looking GREAT right now,
It will be such a relief to come back from vacation to a clean house!
Buffy has even been doing laundry and cleaning her room.
And now I am off to my last day of work.

I've been having lots of nightmares recently,
About money,
My car breaking down,
Something happening to my kids,
You name it.
I thought it was because I'm stressed about finances
But I realized this morning that I'm really even more stressed about leaving my kids for FIVE DAYS.
I've never left them before, I mean when they leave me for their dad's house that's one thing,
But for me to leave them, that has just never happened.
I feel tremendous guilt about it,
Even though they say they're fine with it and Buffy said she wanted me to have a good time,
And I'm taking time off the next week to be with them.
I don't know, I feel really guilty and stressed though,
I hope I can relax so I can enjoy my vacation!

Hi everyone,
Just dropped the kids off at the movies, and I am still happily sewing.
I won't stay up until 1:30am sewing anymore though,
I woke up this morning and had to take out over 150 stitches that I'd sewn in the wrong place last night, heh.
I'm pretty much planning to take the entire month of August off from the computer so I can complete various other projects.
But I'll be checking in now and then,
Expect an entry around Spike's birthday (8/17) and probably when school starts too (8/25).
Otherwise, I will be pretty quiet.

One last thing, THANK YOU SABBY FOR THE POSTCARD!!!!
It was hilarious, I LOVED it, so did the kids.
I still need to get my postcard stamps (they're still sitting right here, heh).

"He was alive when the Wright brothers flew?? Telephones? Before cars??? Martin Luther King AND Vietnam? WOW, the world has changed A LOT in the last 100 years! He had a really exciting life!!! And what a cool name, 'Bob Hope', I like that!"
It was really neat seeing her excitement.

To clarify that conversation
To clarify that conversation that involved Jeff down there,
I actually went into the group talking to one of them about a work discount,
She brought up the blowjob topic and also asked Jeff about how much they cost,
I wasn't actually a part of that topic, I had brought a work question to the conversation.
I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't the one who started it.
And the truth is, we all joke around very often like that, it is a very fun company and we can all take a joke, and I could take Jeff joking like that if it was just him and me.
I just didn't appreciate him making that kind of joke in front of those particular people, and he knew better.

Oh yeah, forgot to
Oh yeah, forgot to tell you about something sort of exciting that happened at work Thursday.
I was at work joking around with Jeff, and three other people (including the boss's son).
We were joking about how much blow jobs cost, and a few people turned to Jeff to ask if $20 was about right,
Because sex-crazed Jeff is most likely to know.
He had the nerve to turn to me and say "Yeah, that's about how much you..."
He never had a chance to finish the sentence.
I back-handed him in the face, right above his nose and across his forehead as hard as I possibly could, and walked out of the office.
He followed me out asking what he did (While whimpering and holding his face which was turning bright red) and I yelled at him for a good ten minutes "You have NO RIGHT!! NO RIGHT!"
*****
DeeDee defended him later, saying "He just doesn't think before he speaks, he can't help himself."
While that's true, it's also true that he gotten away with that shit for six years now, and I wasn't about to stand by and let him joke like that in front of people I work with, people who don't know the true story of our history, and people who don't know ME well enough to judge if he's joking or not.
Six years of crap like that, that was the last straw.
*****
He's so clueless, he followed me around for a good 45 minutes, "What did I DO?? I'm SORRY! What did I SAY??"
I kept trying to warn him to stay away from me, cuz what I wanted to do was jump on him and start wailing.
"I'm going to go home with red marks on my face!"
Me: "Good, I hope your wife asks where you got them."
*****
I don't hate him, I still consider him a friend, but I'm not going to put up with that crap anymore.

Well, the Aptos bookstore
Well, the Aptos bookstore did not have Rolling Stone but we did go see TombRaider 2 on Saturday.
During the movie I was positively enraptured by Angelie Jolie - Can the woman possibly be getting more beautiful???
But when the movie was over I was a little disappointed.
While it didn't have the long slow drawn-out parts the first one did,
It also didn't have the super exciting action scenes.
Just medium-exciting ones.
So... Not as boring, but not as exciting either.
Overall I'm kind of disappointed.
*****
I told the kids I would take them to see it next Saturday.
Buffy: "You mean you're going to drag us along when you go see it a second time."
Well, that's another way of saying it, I guess.

That girl dropped her frisbee, ran past her friends and straight to the bathroom to get changed.
We were at the pool in five minutes.

Just as I flipped the last one and the power didn't come back on
There was a knock on the door,
Buffy's friends wanted to know if our power was out too.
It was only a small part of our block that was out,
Maybe ten houses total
But it was so hot, all the neighbors just came out front to hang out in our yards.
PG&E didn't come out until 7:30
I don't know what the problem was but they said it wouldn't be fixed until 5am
And they were right, 4:54am the power came back on.

Which reminds me of another very funny dream from last week:
Scott rents a studio apartment in his house to a very nice lady,
But in my dream she had moved out and it was a two bedroom apartment.
So I stood there looking at the empty apartment thinking *I* could move there,
And I was so excited that the kids and I could maybe live there,
Then suddenly OZZIE OSBOURNE and family were sitting on a couch,
With Ozzie saying "I don't WANT to live here" and Sharon patting him on the back saying "But Ozzie, it would be good for you, you need to get away from Hollywood and MTV and all those damn cameras, and it would be good for Jack too."
And their kids were sitting there all glum cuz they didn't want to live there either, but in my dream Scott had already promised them the apartment so I couldn't ask for it.
And I felt so bad cuz I really really wanted it but I didn't want to take it away from poor Ozzie, cuz Sharon said he really needed the peace and quiet there.

I just remembered a dream from last night,
I had had surgery to remove my LIVER and it was a simple thing like removing my gallbladder.
And they had given me my liver to hold in my hand, while telling me it had gotten infected, that was why my side had hurt last week.
And I kept thinking "Now I don't have a gallbladder or a liver, they could at least have asked me before they removed it!"
And it wasn't even a nightmare.

Up again at 6:30am today.
Dreamed about the swim meet all night, hee.
Now I'm doing Spike's wash,
We have to get him to church to leave for camp at 12:45,
And then zoom back to the pool for awards at 2pm.
Very exciting busy day.
Can't wait for next weekend,
No kids
No swim meet
No confirmation class...
Just one long uninterrupted weekend in Aptos.
Ahhhhhh....

Tomorrow is Swim FINALS.
Tomorrow is Swim FINALS.
It is always held on the hottest day of the year
(either they consult with God when they set the date,
Or God just really loves to have a joke on us)
And is set at Gunderson High School
A school made entirely of cement
With no shade whatsoever.
It is always the most miserable day of the year
And since all teams swim against each other
It lasts from 7:30am until about 4pm.
I will work as a timer from 8am to 11am.
And hopefully our team does well,
We could possibly place as low as 3rd, but First would be absolutely awesome.

Okay, I wish I could post lots in celebration of my new working blog
But it's like 105 outside, and my indoor thermometer that tops out at 95 degrees,
Says 95 degrees,
My computer is SUPER HOT
and I need to turn the air conditioner on.
Air conditioner shares same circuit as computer,
They don't get along together,
So Blog must wait
So I don't die from this heat.
I mean,
If someone was here to baste me with my own juices
That would be different,
But I'm going to be one dried up baked chicken if I don't get the air on.
I'm already delirious, you see.

Expect an email from me on further details.

A few of you nice people have offered to host the image of Lara Croft for me,
And I thank you, it's very generous,
But I do use the gold membership for other features too,
And have quite a few images I have hosted there.
And HONESTLY
I can afford it,
So thank you for your help, but we're okay.
If you do want to help someone who needs it,

If she can get through school,
She won't have to have money-short weeks like I do.

I have 8 vacation days to use,
Can't use them all at once cuz Corina's leaving on maternity leave,
But I can use a few in August.
So August 7 - 11
I'll be on vacation with Scott.
Wow.
We'll just be hanging out stress-free at his quiet house in the mountains of Aptos, 1 mile from the beach.
We're not going to do anything special,
We're just Not Going to Do Anything, haha.
And then 2 weeks later I get 3 days with the Kids, I can save my money to do stuff with them, like movies and stuff.
Hurray!

Saw League of Extraordinary
Saw League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Hated the movie, loved the characters.
Captain Nemo, Dorian Gray, Tom Sawyer, Vampire lady...
And Sean Connery was the coolest.
LOVED the characters, the sets, the effects.
Hated the storyline, and all the GOOFS in the movie.
Invisible man would have half makeup, whole makeup, no makeup, half makeup, from camera shot to camera shot.
Quite distracting.
And just HOW did that big ass boat (Totally cool boat but a mile long)
HOW did it just dock up in Venice?
Every two minutes we were asked to just completely IGNORE what happened previously.
Every 15 minutes they changed the plotline.
For all the money spent on the actors, sets, effects,
You'd think they could have hired a decent writer,
Or fired the editor,
I don't know.

I think 8-months-pregnant Corina
I think 8-months-pregnant Corina lost her dang mind at work this afternoon.
Corina asked the new lady Jessie if she had any kids, she said no.
Corina: What? No kids! How old are you?
Jessie: 40
Corina: And no kids? What nationality are you??
Jessie: Chinese
Corina: Chinese! I thought you people were all baby making machines!
I was on the phone with a customer who was actually paying his bill and I started choking from horrified laughter when I heard her say that. The guy on the phone wanted to know what I was laughing at. Nothing, heh.
Poor Jessie doesn't even seem to understand that Corina's remark was (I thought, anyway) a bit offensive. Then Corina told her I was a CrackHead (her nickname for me) and Jessie remarked that that was "a good thing", haha.
For the record, I am NOT a crackhead.
Heee
Tomorrow it's due to be 100 degrees.
Corina's head is probably not going to be any better.

"Mom, I have to sweep today and Spike just spilled crackers and salt on the floor!"
My response: "I feel for ya, now get that floor swept before I get home."
"Mom can you go to the store to get film for my camping trip?"
My response: "The one where you don't leave for 2 more weeks? No."

Which is better than the phone calls I'll get later in the summer when they're really bored.

I mean, I do have one, but I barely can think of it as mine, as a good friend is in charge of it and takes care of it for me, I have no idea how to use it.
I wish I had a site where I could set up a live webcam.
Like a permanent one, I would have no problem leaving it on all day.
But I need someone nearby me in Real Life who can help me.
I guess I'll just have to wait.

Guess who I just
Guess who I just talked to???
ITSY!!!!
And she doesn't even have an accent!
(Is that how you spell accent? It doesn't look right...)
Except when she says "out" it comes like "ow-ooot"
I love Itsy, I'm so glad she called!!!

My son is home.
My son is home.
:-)
He took Mammal Studies, Small Boat Sailing, Fingerprinting, Oceanography, Family Life and...
Something else, Don't remember.
But he had a great time,
And looks another year older.
I gotta stop sending these kids to camp
They don't look like little kids when they come home anymore.

All right Ms.Mariel, where
All right Ms.Mariel, where did your diary go????
And in response to your guestbook entry,
Your recipe sounds FABULOUS and we will try it this week,
But my tomato/mozarella recipe was totally fresh and raw,
Just like a salad but no lettuce.
It seemed wierd to me when I first got it at the restaurant,
But it was Delicious.

Okay, now it's getting hot in here.

I just heard from
I just heard from Spike, he's in San Francisco now, about 45 minutes away.
Hurray!
And he said he had a great time AND earned six merit badges.
He was at Boy Scout Camp for those who don't know.
I'm so glad he had a great time, AND that I get to see him soon.
Also, Buffy just left to dinner at her friend's house and to go to church with them tonight,
Not sure which church it is,
Just that it's "Christian", but "Not Catholic" and "Not the Cathedral of Faith".
It doesn't matter to me which one, I'm just curious.
I think it's great for kids to have different experiences like that.

I went to Longs
I went to Longs yesterday to get cotton balls so I could do my nails because I've run out of cotton balls,
And guess what?
They had no cottonballs.
A large drugstore
Had NO cottonballs.
Insane.

Oh gosh, I just
Oh gosh, I just realized I still need to get gas and stamps and mail my bills
And also, my car was making clickety-clak noises (more like tikka tikka tikka)
AND the digital thingie that tells me how fast I go was saying (0) on the freeway today,
So I'm assuming that isn't good.
Oh Jeez, now I'm all depressed, heh.

I need to re-add all my blog friends to the links,
But that seems like such hard work.
But I will.
I just need my son to come home first.

Well this stats counter
Well this stats counter doesn't show me where you all are from.
Anyone know of one that does?
Or tell me what I did wrong with Sitemeter, because I know my old ones use to work correctly.

I think this Quilt
I think this Quilt Project is a neat idea just like Traceee said,
But also, it would be SO COOL to create a quilt from squares that bloggers actually sewed themselves.
Would any of you be interested in that?
If there is any interest, I would be happy to take squares created by each of you and sew them together into a quilt.
Of course, I guess the quilt would stay at my house, but I'd take lots of pictures for you all!
Any other ideas what I could do with it?
Donate it to Blogger?
I definitely think it would be an amazing work of art,
It doesn't take any talent at all to create one square.
Tell me what you all think.

I really need to get out of this house.
Maybe I'll go finish my hair now.

I love sprinklers. We
I love sprinklers.
We couldn't use them at the old burnt up house because there was no water pressure,
Seriously,
A sprinkler would rise less than a foot up in the air.
But now I don't have to stand outside with a stupid hose in my hand for hours.
Just plant my seeds,
Turn on the sprinklers,
Sit at the computer.
What a life.

I bought sunflower seeds
I bought sunflower seeds the other day,
Not regular kind though.
One is a red and black flower about 5-6 feet tall,
The other is a white flower about 5 feet.
I'm going to plant them every other one, along the backyard fence.
It's going to be lovely.

In case you were
In case you were wondering,
No, I never took the camera software off the other computer
And No, it will not turn on again.
Hopefully it cools down soon, cuz my memory cards are almost full.
You'd think I would learn my lesson,
But I'm a bit more hardheaded than that.

Okay, time to alert
Okay, time to alert you all to my change of residence now, eh?
Hopefully my old blog site comes back up soon, but in the meantime,
Here I are.

I bought a 5
I bought a 5 piece set of paint brushes on clearance at Longs ($2.99) for all different sizes, mostly big.
I'm going to use them to create my own Trading Spaces style artwork for my living room and bedroom.
You know, stretch some canvas on a frame,
Slap some colors on,
Call it Art.
It's going to look terrific, I just know it!

Another simple Summer Recipe:
I imitated what I ate at Pasta Pomadoro last week and it was yummy.
Sliced Roma tomatoes
Sliced mozarrella cheese
Drizzle with olive oil
Sprinkle with chopped basil.

Good.

My parsley did not
My parsley did not survive the 100 degree heat last week.
All dead.
The basil and Oregano don't look great, but they and the mint will survive.
My lemon tree is fine.
Hurray!
Also, the entire vegetable garden is doing very very well.

Buffy and I baked
Buffy and I baked a whole chicken this week (my first time) and I just stripped the whole thing,
Put it in a pan with chopped garlic, onions, green peppers, fresh basil and salt&pepper, and heated the whole thing up.
Then made YUMMY burritos with mozzarella cheese.
SO YUMMY.
