Weekend plans
Ten years after the rest of the world, I am reading Poisonwood Bible, and obviously this is one of the most beautiful books ever written. If you're a lagger like I am, you need to get this book.
Erin and I are supposed to go horseback riding in Half Moon Bay on the beach Sunday. Erin rode horses when she was young, even took lessons for a few years. I, on the other hand, rode a broken down horse through a poverty-stricken village in Mexico and held on for dear life as I cried for the poor people. I wasn't sure this was going to work out well, but I'll even go back down the zip-lines if it means doing something with Erin. Now though, trip may be canceled/postponed because she needs to catch up on some work due Monday that she hasn't been doing because she's been with me. Blessing in disguise? Possibly.
:)
But trip may still be on, we'll see. We'll definitely go eventually. (EEP!)
I guess tomorrow we'll decide whether we want to put up the fake tree, or go buy a real tree that the cats will want to pee under, or just keep up the 3' tall plastic tree that we kept up from last year.
Maybe we should go large and get a ten footer. If we're going to do Christmas right for the first time since Mom died, may as well go all out, right? Maybe we'll even bake cookies.... YEAH, RIGHT, hahahahaaaa.
I have no idea what I'm getting anyone for Christmas. How about a trade-off: I actually decorate and bake cookies this year in return for not having to actually shop? Sound good? Yes, I think so too.
I need to go back to work. This is obviously a procrastination entry.
Oh, and I missed having my Guyere scrambled eggs today. Sad face.
:)
