Happy Halloween!
Wow, we had only three sets of trick or treaters tonight.
By the time the second set arrived I let them pick 3 DumDums each.
The third set got handfulls of them.
I now have a massive bowl of DumDums, the cheapest candy at Longs. I don't even like DumDums.
:-(
The kids went out tonight.
Buffy was a cop. Oh sweet sweet irony.
Spike chose a more literal costume: An ape.
A six foot tall ape.
His friend was a banana, and they spent most of their time chasing each other down the street making everyone laugh.

EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We just had a terribly big earthquake, and 20 minutes later I'm STILL shaking, but now that my heart is starting to slow I feel like I'm about to cry. That was huge. Nothing broke - but it was a rolling one (30 seconds long!) it just seemed like it went on forever. It was NOT fun. Californians are pretty blase about earthquakes so I sat in my chair waiting for it to end (the cats hightailed it out of here PRONTO) but eventually I tried to make it to the doorway because I wasn't sure WHAT was going to happen. MANNNNN. I hope there's no aftershocks tonight... I'm just not up for it.
update: AND all the phone lines are down. House phone and cell phones... :-(

The Mechanical School Phone Voice
It really was hilarious.
I am used to the mechanical voice saying, "Your. Daughter. Was not. At school. Today." "Your. Daughter. Was tardy. At school. Today." Your. Daughter. Was sent. To the Principal's office. Today."
We have never ever heard that she "participated. Well." Hahaha. I was so glaring at Buffy over the phone when the mechanical voice started talking. I wish I could have seen my face when I heard what it told me!

#2. The Buff. The phone just rang, and the mechanical voice from school was on the other end.
"Today. Your. 10th grade... daughter. Participated... Well. In 4th period. Biology. *click*"
That was Extremely odd! But... YAY FOR BUFFY!!!!!!!

Booooooored.
One of the BEST benefits of having a son with a drivers license is that he can go grocery shopping for you. This is the best thing EVER. I just hand him the ATM card and keys and off he goes. WOOOO.
In other news: I'm bored.

Finished with Greek Mythology, now we're on to Le Morte Darthur.
And in Ovid, Heroides.

Good News!
Pischina-ku is back open!
That old site used to be where I would write one haiku a day, every day before 7am. After awhile I got out of doing it, then I forgot all my Blogger passwords. I always loved my Pischina-ku site though, that's why I kept the link over there on the right.
But today for some reason I tried one more time, and WaLAA! Not only did I get right into Blogger, but it had ALLLLLLLLLLLL my old blogs, like blogs that no one ever knew about, even a blog that I had created to be super de DUPER top secret but that Blogger promptly made a "Blog of the Day" or whatever, haha. Anyway there are all there, and I've been sitting here reading through them, and I am really glad I have them again. I don't need to write there in most of them, it's mostly all pre-Scott, which means Bad News, but some are from the beginning of Scott, and it was really sweet to read. I may have to print all of those out, even the scandalous entries, just so I have a permanent record of them. Thank you Blogger and Internet Gods for keeping all those olllllld entries.
I'm not giving you the links to those old blogs though. Just the haiku one.
Anyway, my school schedule does not allow me to do a daily haiku before 7am, so I'm just going to try to do one every day. Like my original intent - these are not going to be award winning haiku, just something to get my brain started.
But if you wish, go back through the archives, because now that I'm reading my old haiku again, they really bring back a lot of pleasant memories.
Link on the right.
OH! Also, I wrote a new diary entry too.

the Prince of Denmark
It's been about 25 years since the first time I read Hamlet.
It doesn't really get better with age.

I am here!!!
Sorry, I didn't realize the blog was disappearing from lack of use. I am here! Just being a very good little student. Study Study Study, that's all I do, but I LOVE school this semester (next semester is going to SUCK though).
Right now I am:
Reading The Art of Love, by Ovid
Reading my Mythology book for class
Researching for my essay on Theseus and Hippolyta and how their stories affect the reading of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Finishing up Henry IV Part I, and finishing Hamlet by Thursday morning.
And as always, studying my Spanish.
So as you can see = Busy.
I'll talk to you all soon.
~~~~~
Okay, one more bit of info. The class schedules are up for next semester, and because there is only one class AGAIN for Spanish, and it's right in the middle of the day, AGAIN, that means my schedule is screwed and I'm going to have to take some classes I don't really want to take. But anyway. This is probably what I will have:
Spanish (SUCK SUCK SUCK)
Literary Criticism (required)
The Age of Elizabeth (at least I love the professor, my favorite lesbian)
20th Century Poetry (GAAAAAAAAAG ME!!!!!!!)
But that's months away. So... See ya later for real now.
