Just for the record, I
Just for the record, I love JOAN Cusack also.
I'm just a happy girl at home with my dvd's right now.

I've been plotting the ex-hubby's death for the last ten years, does that count?
Not that I'm watching Grosse Pointe Blank today or anything, but when I attend my 20 year high school reunion this July I think I'll tell everyone I've been a contract killer the last ten years.

John Cusack, I love you
I just need to note here that if John Cusack asked me to marry him, I just might give up Scott.
But not for anyone else.
But oh what I would do for one night with John.

More plans
Minister Plans:
Okay, I went to the County Clerks office Thursday to file liens on some houses, and afterward I went to information to see how to register as an ordained minister.
She said it was a very simple process, but I had to stand in another line to find out about it. Since I was already late from standing in the longer-than-usual lien line, I will go back next week.
And ya know, when they legalize gay marriages here, I'll be first in line to marry them. I can even perform Commitment Ceremonies without even being ordained. This is called "Striking when the market is hot", haha! I think it's time to advertise!
Survivor:
People who know me in real life are saying I'm a shoe-in if I try out. But I just came up against one problem, Buffy has her confirmation classes this year, and the Ex-hub won't take her. So Survivor will have to be put off for one more season. That's okay, I can wait another year for my million dollars. Buffy is more important first.
Plan D (E? F?):
I quit college to get married, and I wasn't that far off from finishing my AA in liberal arts. So I've decided to go back to school. While researching schools and majors online I discovered that you can complete college courses online!! So I've registered for information at quite a few, and my two favorites are St.Leo's University where I can get my Liberal Arts degree online, or Cabrillo College, which happens to be about 2 miles from Scott's house but also offers all sorts of classes online.
But when I realized that even the community college right next to my house charges $26 frikkin dollars PER UNIT, I decided I better register for some financial help too. Eliza just finished school, completely through grants and scholarships. If she can, I can too. So I've researched some scholarship places on the net, I even submitted one essay for a $500 scholarship yesterday, and the rest I'll fill out as soon as I'm registered for school (a requirement for most of them).
So next week's goal is to get my transcripts from Evergreen Valley College and find out what I need to finish my AA, then pick a new school, register and start filling out financial aid papers.
In the meantime I'll be performing weddings and commitments, and we'll be on our way to finally having a normal life.
Hurray!!!

Shrek 2
I'm not really one for kid movies, and I didn't enjoy Shrek 1 all that much. Actually, I fell asleep during it, heh.
Scott and I saw Shrek 2 yesterday and I really really loved it. It was VERY funny, and entertaining, and I loved Puss in Boots and the Donkey.
So I guess if you already loved Shrek 1, you'll probably really love #2.
Go see it.

American Idol thoughts
WOOOOO Fantasia!!!! I was so happy she won, and I was so happy FOR her. She sang that last song, after she won, really really well. And I can't! Wait! to buy her CD!!!
I wouldn't be surprised to see Diana all over Nickelodean and the Disney Channel very very soon. She's going to do just fine.
During the pre-show, when Ryan went to talk to Paula, all I could think about was HOW did she get her boobs to be such perfect upright globes as that??? Real boobs don't look like that Paula, especially when you're 40!!!
I loved to hear Kelly sing again, and it reminded me how well she always did through her whole season, the only bad night she had was when she was losing her voice.
I was glad to see no trace of Justin Guarini anywhere.

Our new side money plan:
You can just call me Reverend Pischina.
Next payday I'm getting the Premium Package and I'll be on my way to performing weddings.
And then Scott will have to really watch out because you know I'll figure some way to have him married to me on a technicality, haha!

Movie Update
Just watched "Timeline" last night because I'm reading the book and it's really great, but I didn't like the movie at all. They took all the female characters and turned them into men, added characters not in the book, sent characters back into time who never went, and just changed the entire story around. However Buffy, who hasn't read the book, said that while she thought the movie was confusing, she absolutely loved it.
"Secretary". This has been on my "Want to see" list for quite some time, and for the first half of the movie I was very disappointed. Mostly because as I've said before, I don't understand cutters. As far as I know (and I'm probably wrong) I've never known anyone who cut themselves, and I never even heard of it until I started hanging out here in the internet. But by the time the movie ended, I absolutely loved it. I loved the moral of the story, I loved the happy ending, I loved the characters. I really really loved the story (second half) because I really understood that second half. There will probably be people who understand cutters but don't understand what was going on in the second half, but I do, and I loved it. If it wasn't for the first boring half, I'd give it 5 stars.
I rented Sixteen Candles for Buffy and she and Spike really loved it, of course. I've been renting all the John Hughes movies for them - you can't really grow up without seeing those movies, right?
From your recommendations to me, I already had "Love Actually" on my Netflix list, and I put "The Point" on and moved it to the top. It's on "Long Wait" but hopefully we'll get see it soon. My brownies are ready now, so I'm off.

The longest Saturday ever
Well Time Trials are finally over. The kids did great, and Buffy beat her best friend in breast stroke, which is all she really cares about. Spike did excellent, he came in around 4th on the team, but only beat by 14 year olds, which means that next year he will be the best again. (The age groups are grouped in two's, 9-10s, 13-14s, etc).
Time Trials are not only to establish the swimmers' times for placement in the meets, but it serves as a practice meet to work the bugs out. And Man oh Man did we have bugs. That meet didn't end until after 1:30pm, and I've been at time trials that ended by 10:30am. It was horrible and exhausting. I hope they have all those bugs fixed now, because if we add a visiting team into the mix we won't get out of there until 6pm.
I made two pans of brownies last night, and now at 6:35am I have another pan in. One more pan to go. Then it's off to Aptos for a birthday party!

This fish was doomed from the word Go
Buffy got a goldfish from the carnival yesterday, and today she was so grossed out by the two fish poops at the bottom of the bowl that she just *had* to change the water again, and then immediately decided she wanted to use a different bowl for the fish and so put the fish in *another* tank of water while she washed the new bowl, and then put the fish in the new bowl with more water.
The fish is now dead.

Today is time trials for swim team. I can't WAIT to see Spike's times! It's 6:40am right now, and we need to leave by 7:30. At the regular swim meets we have to leave by 6:30 so I'm enjoying my coffee right now, heh. Summer is here for us swimmers.
Then it's off to the store to buy supplies for Scott's birthday cake, party signs and balloons, and then back home to prepare everything.
Busy busy day!

Spirited Away
My friend Katherine recommended the movie Spirited Away in my comments, and I have indeed already seen it. I saw it in the theatre with Scott and his daughter, and I loved it so much I placed a pre-order on the dvd. We love it! It's really a great movie and the little girl reminds me SO MUCH of Buffy when she was that age. Kiki's Delivery Service is another dvd we've had for quite awhile, from the same guy.
And Yes! I would love to hear what other movies you all recommend!!!

Survivor
Okay.
This is the first season where I really couldn't stand most of the Jury. I mean, you always have your Sue Hawk waiting to make an ass of his/herself, but an entire jury?
I'm not counting Rupert and Jenna in that assessment, but who would have thought that Shii-Ann would end up being the most sensible out of the bunch? "Those who live in glass houses..." So true, Tell 'em Shii-Ann!
And then we have an audience who's even stupider than those fools on the jury. When they started booing Jerri and then cut to commercial I sat there and thought "That was bullshit, I wouldn't even sit and take that if I was her." Commercials over, Jerri's gone. Good for her. I know she's had a hard time cast as the villain, but she's redeemed herself if you've seen her on other shows. I hope she finds peace.
The engagement: I think the last few weeks you could really see that they did care for each other. It got to be very sweet, because you could see that through the paranoia those two really *cared* for each other, I don't think it ever appeared to be a lust thing at all. I hope they make it together, or at least have several happy years together. Same thing for Jenna and Ethan.
Richard Hatch: Still love him.
So now we get to vote for who gets the extra million. I voted. I sat and looked at all the contestants and thought "Who deserves this? I mean, if *I* can't win this million dollars, and I think *I* deserve the million dollars (heh), then who does deserve it?"
I voted for Rob. I don't care if he does get to share Amber's money, I think he deserved the million himself, and I wouldn't care a bit if the two of them walked off with everything. The other jury members were too stupid to stop them when they had the chance (and they had MANY) so I think Rob and Amber deserve it all.

'Nother one of them question thingies for when you don't have anything else to say
I somehow missed ever seeing this in Meg's blog, but I found it at Sky-Pie's, so here are my answers:
1. What is the "theme" on your calendar this year? One of those Sandra Boynton thingies that the kids bought for me.
2. Do you read the newspaper every day? When I didn't have to work, I did. But now I have too many other things going on during the day.
3. What kind of shoes are you wearing right now? Shoes? Are you kidding? I don't wear any shoes when I don't have to. And since they instituted the "no open-toe shoes" rule at work my feet have been shoeless as much as possible.
Including at work, heee.
4. What magazines do you subscribe to? Interview. Biography. And American Girl for Buffy.
5. What is your favorite condiment? Mustard! EXTRA Mustard!
6. What was the first occupation you remember wanting to have? I've wanted to be a writer from as far back as second grade.
7. Are you a green thumb? Am I a green thumb? Or do I have a green thumb? Well, when I have time I have a green thumb, but indoor plants are all eaten by the cats, and I don't have much time or money anymore to put into the garden.
8. Did you have an imaginary friend when you were little? No. No I did not.
9. Do you floss regularly? I probably floss more than any three people you know combined.
10. If you could still hang posters of celebrities on your walls and get away with it like when you were 12, who would be on your walls right now? Who told you I have pictures of Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey and Sherilyn Fenn in my bedroom? I wouldn't mind a pic of Sting either.
13. Do you keep shoe boxes or throw them away? For my good dress shoes I keep them.
14. Would you be embarassed if someone looked under your bed? Nope, it's the cleanest spot in the house, perfectly empty!
15. If you could be one character in book, who would you be? Probably Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn.
16. What do you sleep in? NOTHING, duh.
17. What is your favorite word? Proposal, haha.

Okay, visit Jane, if she's written new entries then find the one for May 7. Then scroll all the way to the bottom to read "What I'm Mad About Today" (or, you know, read the whole entry, but I'm talking about that specific part).
My thoughts exactly. And she said it way funnier than I ever could.

30 pounds
So Thursday evening I did the New York City Ballet workout tape, which is a very very simplified ballet workout. I took ballet for many years and class was always much harder than this... but I'm 37 years old now and not a cute little ballerina any more, so my legs were sore the next day anyway.
Friday I did a few ballet moves at lunch, and Saturday I did about 20 minutes in the morning. Today I did my Tae Bo workout tape.
I wrote a "Project" statement up this evening, stating I will lose 30 pounds by August 1. If I'm going to get back into shape, I need to just do it, so since I'm on somewhat of a roll, I just need to keep that ball rolling.
I can do it!

Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
The highlight of my weekend in Aptos was seeing This Movie. You need to see it, now, and you need to not read any reviews or summaries of what it's about. The most awesome movie EVER. But you cannot read about it first, it will spoil the whole thing. All I can say is you MUST see it.
