My Movie Rating... ?

My life has been rated:
Click to find out your rating!
See what your rating is!
What does this mean?

Suitable for 15 years or older. Films in this category can be about anything, say 'fuck' a lot, probably get to see all sorts of guns and shooting, but no open heart surgery with a knife. Most 'R' rated films in America fit into this category.

Examples: Alien, The Sixth Sense

I DO have a head...

Actually you guys are looking at a later picture where they zapped out my head, if you scan down to the 9:30am post you'll see me, WITH my head, heh.

Also The Apprentice

You know what else? I cannot wait for the women to go to The Boardroom.
Ya know how the men go and all gloves are off and everyone is accusing and not so nice to each other?
Imagine when the women finally get there. I envision all sorts of catty comments and bitchy speeches...
And of course lots and lots of tears and hugs when one of them gets fired.

Then the show will REALLY get good.

The Apprentice

I have a theory on why The Apprentice is so popular (I know not everyone loves it but I do and lots of others do too).
The thing that turns me off on so many reality shows is that they fill them with all these beautiful people who have no brains and never had to learn how to act nice. Plus, anything that involves finding the love of your life on TV really turns me off.
But while The Apprentice is filled with 80% Beautiful and 20% Average Joes, they all have brains. They were chosen because somehow, in some way, they became successful and have some sort of intelligent qualities in them.

Which isn't to say that smart successful people cannot be idiots. Because they are. And so that's why I love this show. They may be beautiful (I'm looking at you Amy, Troy and Nick!) but they are also smart, successful and interesting. And it's fascinating seeing how these people act/react with each other. I totally hope Donald Trump puts on another season.

My old friends at the eBay comics board have dug up an old picture of me from about 6 years ago. Scan down to January 30 at 9:18am and you'll see a big ole picture of me, heh.

Maybe Mac & Cheese would be better

Tonight will be our yearly "Try to cook a whole chicken" night.
I don't like this night because I hate raw meat, I won't touch it, all my meat cooking is done using forks, call me crazy, but I won't touch it, never have, never will.

So because it's a terrible chore to make a whole chicken while not touching it, I am not good at it. I mean, I've tried this maybe 4 times in my life.

Today we have a really big-ass chicken. Tell me some simple easy recipes for a nice roast bird. We even have little red potatoes.

Posted by Pischina at 9:28 AM

No thank you

I *guess* this is a good idea to offer, but I won't be donating *my* nice wonderful tax refund money.
I'm just selfish that way.

Heeby Jeebies

I mistakenly clicked on a link for the eBay Doll discussion board, and WHOA there are some scary looking pics over there. I'm not one of those people who are scared of dolls, but that is some scary stuff. Scroll all through it, I don't know what you'll see when you click it, but right now, before I go to bed, I'm going to have nightmares, heh.

Holding my nose

Something really smelled in the kitchen this morning so I emptied the trash can on my way out...

But it still STINKS in there, like rotting meat. I cannot figure out what it is. I don't know if there's a dead rodent around or what but I need to find it fast.

You have just won one million dollars:

1. Who do you call first? My kids, then Charlene then Scott

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself? a car, then a house

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else? a car for Scott

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom? I would give a lot to my church because I know they'll do something good with it (they've given enough to us over the years), I'd give some to Corina, and some to a food bank.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how? I would invest in property. Houses.

Posted by Pischina at 6:33 PM

Spending...

I have decided I'm going to buy this wind chime when I get my refund because when I first saw it I just fell in love with it. This windchime would make me very very happy. And I can hang it on the back patio where we can see it from the kitchen window, the big dining room window AND the family room.

Which reminds me, I have some crystals to hang up too!

The states in Red are the ones I've visited. I need some red over on the East Coast one day.

more refund...

Also. I added up all my monthly bills. Added rent and gas and food. Gym, Netflix, comics, anything I may spend money on.

And I make enough (minus that loan for the Jeep) to pay all my bills and still have $200 left.

So the problem is that all my bills were behind, you know, pay this one this month, that one next month, eeny meeny miny mo. So I always have more than usual owing every month.

If I pay back Scott, my Mom, get a washing machine AND take out $200 to buy me and the kids some treats, we still have enough to pay off our bills and get back on track.

Then we'll be fine again.

Hurray!

Yeah, it's kind of exciting to know you're going to have enough to survive again...

Posted by Pischina at 8:04 PM

Refund again...

Also some more panties. I need more panties and goshdarnit I'm going to get some new ones.

And socks. Big fluffy white socks for the whole family!!!!

Posted by Pischina at 8:01 PM

Tax Refund!

Oh yeah, and a new washing machine too!

hahaha...

No, there will be no money left for a wedding or saving, we are behind in too many things. But I can repay my mom $500, repay Scott, get the washing machine, my PG&E bill was $230 this month, we're behind on most of our bills, I need to buy the kids' yearbooks, I have a broken Jeep in the driveway... Believe me, that money will be gone in a week.

BUT, it will get us back on track, possibly fix the Jeep so we can eventually trade in both cars for one really great one, repay my mom (important to me), and possibly get a treat for the kids.

Knowing me I'll probably buy some windchimes and a pair of pants, haha, but I will be very very happy just paying off the bills.

Posted by Pischina at 6:43 AM

Did my taxes...

$2,250.00 refund, Baybeee!!!!
Plus, she did e-filing and since she'll send it before noon tomorrow my state check will be direct deposited on February 6! And Federal will be deposited February 13!
Just in time for Buffy's birthday!
And bill paying!
And loan paying!

Hurray!!!!

Monday Morning

I don't want to go to work today!!! I had a short weekend with Scott, then I came home yesterday and did so much work it doesn't seem like I got a full vacation.
:-(
On the other hand, I *did* do a lot of work, th book is up to 225 pages, I got my laundry all done, AND I put a bunch of stuff on eBay.

We're pretty addicted to eBay again, I'll probably be putting a lot of books up later, and Spike was rifling through the garage looking for his own things to put up. That would be really cool if we could make some money.

Just wish me luck, that's all!

More interesting quiz than most, heh...

Another quiz, this time from Kim - who hasn't posted to her brand new site at this moment:

Bold all the places you've had sex....

In a public restroom
In a movie theater
On a soft rug near the fireplace
On a secluded island beach
In the backyard under the stars

In the woods right after it rains
On a train in the middle of the night
On a motorcycle
In bed with silk or satin sheets
On the beach at night
In your love's (or your) room while their (or your) parents are home

In the rain
In the woods on a blanket
On a yacht during the full moon
In the ocean
On a trampoline
On the top of a hill
On a bed full of rose petals
In the middle of nowhere
In the car in heavy traffic
In a hotel

In a barn full of hay
In an open field at night
On the rooftop
Under a waterfall
In your partner's bed
In the garage

On a jungle gym at a park at night
In the car going through an automated car wash
On your patio or balcony on a starry night
In the mountains of Colorado
On an abandoned air field
Under the full moon in the wet grass
In the living room during the day with the windows wide open
On a blanket on the bank of a lake
In an elevator (One of my most memorable moments, heh)
On the bathroom floor
In your partner's parent's room (or your parents room)
In a sauna
In a very big bed

The ‘It’s a Small World' ride at Disneyland

Now I have to print this out so I can start checking places off. Scott *does* have a trampoline...

Movies

Buffy and I watched Picture Perfect last week. She loved it, I thought it was all right. I mean, I had a problem with WHY Owen Wilson would like Jennifer Anniston. She was a bitch and a horrible person to him through the whole movie. And then she interrupts someone's wedding at the end because she can't wait 20 minutes to talk to him? I would NOT have thought that was sweet, I would have been very pissed.

However, I do LOVE Owen Wilson.

Oh, and G'Night Sam. You were entertaining while you lasted - but I'm glad you weren't living at MY house or working at MY company, hee heee.

Bella the Dog again

The update was just on the news again, and the animal shelter said the adoptive parents were "unfairly vilified" by the press, and that the 10 year old daughter had bonded with the dog and was "devastated" after giving the dog up.

I don't know about "unfairly". The dog did not belong to them. The original owner found the dog just hours after the adoption. If the adoptive parents had given the dog back immediately and chosen another dog, none of this would have happened, the girl would not have bonded (they had not even picked the dog up yet!!!), there would have been NO press, Bella would have been back home and some unwanted dog would have found a nice home instead.

It's called Doing the Right Thing. BEFORE the lawsuit is filed. Jeez, people, law or no law, this was NOT HER DOG.

Posted by Pischina at 10:22 PM

Diary Update

I love my son.
And I would like to say that as soon as I finished writing about how my son makes me laugh, and how much I love him, he then smacked his sister and made her cry, then said she hit him first, she admitted this was true, and then I sent them both to bed.

But they're both way funny, and of course I love them to pieces.

Posted by Pischina at 10:05 PM

My thoughts EXACTLY

"My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance - Djb's not trying to editorialize or anything, but he just finds it sadly ironic that gay couples aren't legally allowed to wed on the basis that it would pose an immoral challenge to "the sacred rite of marriage." In a completely unrelated story, a new show premiered on Fox this week."
That was my thought when that very first Darva Conger whatever-the-heck-her-name-was show came on.
And yet I don't hear anyone protesting these weddings like they do a same-sex marriage. Gays want to marry because they LOVE each other, Camera-whores want to marry... for the money? I don't even know.
I just don't get it.

Posted by Pischina at 7:41 PM

It evens out

Well Spike wasn't comfortable with being left alone with frying chicken, so I ran for a mile, then came home and started it myself. Running a mile and eating a couple pieces of fried chicken will just even out, right?

What about if I include a salad?

Posted by Pischina at 7:27 PM

Finally, the Right resolution

"If you took a dog home from the Humane Society -- and then its rightful owner turned up -- would you give it back?"

There was no way the lady was going to get away with keeping that dog, this has been just about the ONLY news in San Jose this week, and she was made out to be quite the Evil Person - which I kind of agree with. But finally, the dog is now back with her original owner.

I understand Finders Keepers, I understand the original owner should have had tags on her dog, but in the end, this was a member of her FAMILY that was lost. There are so many other unwanted animals that little girl could have for her birthday.

This was a really great column about it in this morning's paper.

Sometimes after Scott leaves here I feel like I get withdrawal symptoms from the computer.
Come on now, I know I'm not the only one...
But I'm always really happy when I get to sit and post all night.

Also, I told Spike I was going to make fried chicken for dinner (something I do about every 2 years) and he wants to make it himself! WHOOOO!
I get to go running while he makes dinner!

Hurray for sons who can cook!!

AND...

Also, I got an invitation in the mail today!
CatieCake is having a Dance Party at her house for her birthday and me and the kids and Scott are all invited!

The only problem, I don't think we're going to be around that day, but I am thinking about ways I can go, with or without Scott.
Who would miss a party at Catie's house???

One little hanging sphere,
a little hanging snowflake,
and a BUNCH of real natural crystals.

Thank you SO much Emily! You made me really happy!!!

Reality Shows

Watched American Idol - I wasn't really impressed with anyone. Yeah, there were a couple good singers, but anyone that stood out? No. Anyone whose album I would buy? No. Hopefully the other cities will have better choices.

And let's hope there are no more Scooter Girls.

Average Joe. I only watched the last couple episodes of the first one, and only watched this one because it looked like this girl was going to be a bitch. But instead she was very nice, and I really like the guys. And I would totally date some of them, Mike and that guy... Fredo? the construction worker? I like those guys, they're nice.

These new guys they're bringing in? HATE them. I HATE mean people and I would NEVER go out with someone who was mean like that. I feel so bad for those "average Joes" and am just kind of mad at the show for putting them in that position. I hope the point isn't so we can laugh at their misery, because I'm not.

My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance. I really like it. See, I could totally pull that off if I had to. My parents have seen worse, heh. I can't wait to see more of this one.

The Apprentice. My very favorite show right now. Love the show, love the people, love The Donald. And again, very inspiring. I mean, if these totally unorganized clueless people can actually start their own businesses and be successful, why can't I? I'm telling you, I will, very soon.

Of course, I probably have to stop watching so much Reality TV first, heh.

Another thing I noticed in my wedding album...

We had two mullets in the wedding party, and would have had a third if one of the groomsmen hadn't chickened out the night before the wedding.

But no, I'm not posting pictures of anyone else.
Let's just be glad the 80's are done with.

Posted by Pischina at 8:54 PM

The 80's

I did most of my growing up in the 80's, so most of who I am now was defined by that decade. I graduated Junior High, graduated High School, listened to and dressed like Madonna, and wallpapered my room with pictures of Prince, Michael Jackson and Rob Lowe. And the hair... well lets just say I invested in a lot of industrial strength conditioner.
But I did one more important thing in the 80's.
I got married.
bouquet.JPG
I was just going through my wedding album with Buffy this afternoon because she couldn't remember what my dress looked like. The first thing she said was "WOW Mom, you were PRETTY then!"
Uhhh... I'm not pretty now???
She said I was, heh.
bouquet2.JPG
She said she was surprised that I hadn't burned the album.
"That album cost me $1,300!" I told her, "Besides, that was MY day."
"Well," she said, "then I'm surprised you didn't cut out all dad's pictures!"

Now why would I do that?

I guess I got the tastiest plants available.
I keep moving the plants to different locations and the cats follow me while licking their lips and looking like I'm trying to hide a box full of live mice from them.

Happy New Plants!

I took money from the grocery fund today and bought three plants at $5.99 each. I think it's worth it because I love houseplants. I used to work in a plant nursery and would rescue the poor dieing plants that didn't get bought. I had over 85 houseplants when we got Pischina-Kitty. She ate them all.
Ate them ALL.
Every time I've gotten plants since she's eaten them, right now I have one african violet and a Christmas cactus, that's the only thing she hasn't eaten.

So I bought three more plants today, I'm HOPING they won't be tasty ones. I can't even tell you what they were called, I don't have any more plant knowledge in my brain, haha. But one is a hanging one, so no kitties can reach it!

Any kitties eat these plants and they will get a spanking!!!

Women's Soccer

So it's against the rules to take off your shirt and show *gasp!* your sports bra (which I will wear while running in public in the summer) but now they're urging the women to wear skimpier uniforms!
Maybe they could add bunny ears while they're at it.

But god forbid they show their sports bra.

OHHHH, now I get it. A push up bra would probably be fine, but not those unsexy sports things, right?

Almost Good Night...

One last thing.
This Book really blows. I love the Dummies books, and I love feng shui books but this one just goes overboard.

If anyone is interested in starting to clean up their house and organizing in the "feng shui" way, I would recommend The Western Guide to Feng Shui: Room by Room. This book makes sense. Almost every idea in the book makes some sort of sense if you think about it.

The Dummies book would have you hanging wall to wall mirrors all over your house, with a crystal in every single window, and your ceilings would be cluttered with brass wind chimes, bamboo windchimes, crystals and bamboo flutes. It even came right out and said the best thing would be mirrors all over your hallway walls. Not going to happen in MY house. And their Resources section ONLY lists the author's Feng Shui Master's mail order catalog which is just WAAAAAY overpriced. I am really disappointed in the book, and in the publishers at the Dummies place.

I guess all I need to know afterall was in the Room by Room book.

Okay, off I go to sleep now.
Good Night.

Very Very Happy

I got paid today and put my check in the bank and I am SO happy to say that I have not bounced one check since New Years Day.
I know to some people that is a ridiculous statement, my friend Corina has never bounced a check in her life, but sometimes when you are a single mom with not much money things happen. My New Year resolution this year was to NOT bounce one check, no matter what. This will be extremely hard, but so far so good. Yes, two weeks is a long time for me, heh.
Also, I did borrow some money from Scott, but half as much as usual, and only because I had no money left from the Holidays. I have to remember that I need to keep $100 extra in the bank at the end of the month to cover certain bills. I don't foresee needing any more money from him. And when I get my tax refund back I won't need anything from anyone again.
Anyway, I'm going on and on. What I meant to say was that we got through the last two weeks with $33 worth of groceries and we ate really well. And I still had $6 left in the bank. Now it's time to pay bills. And I'll do just fine!

The real test will be on the 1st when I have to pay rent. The Ex has already "warned" me that he will not have the child support until the 5th. I risk a $100 late fee if I wait for him. I risk bouncing rent if I don't. I haven't decided what to do about that yet.

Anyone else watch this show?

Cuz it's the Best Show Ever. I am in LOVE with this show.

Mmmm... Chocolate

I really really really want chocolate right now, and I have already finished all my Christmas candy.

I was just remembering when Traceee used to live near where I worked. And one day I wrote in my blog that I wanted some chocolate cake, and like an hour later Traceee appeared in my office door with a chocolate cake!

That was just the Best Day Ever, heh.

I found a good new one!

The Mighty Jimbo found my blog, and then I found him, and you should find him too. He's funny and CUTE and SMART and I spent a lot of time reading his blog and diary last night.
However, his site name sounds so familiar, maybe I'm the last to know him, heh.

But...

On the other hand, the kids are at their dad's house tonight so I have peace and quiet and can watch Mystery, Alaska and the The Apprentice on TV later.
I love peace and quiet!!!

My poor Jeep

I got paid today so I finally went to the mechanic, paid him $192 and he towed my poor little Jeep home. Then the next door neighbor told me his friend has a tranny shop and he'll give me his card. My boss's friend already quoted me $1000 less than the 1st mechanic, so hopefully I can get this fixed at a reasonable price.

I feel sad looking at my little Jeep out on the street.

More Quiz!

Because my life is currently boring.

Borrowed from Simplify:

What is the middle name of the first person you ever slept with? How about the last person I've slept with? heh. That name would be Scott (yeah, his first name is different).

What kind of underwear are you wearing and what color? Cotton bikini... Amazing, they are white today.

What is the song you want played at your funeral? "Don't cry for me Argentina". Heh. No, I don't know.

What would your last meal be before getting executed? Pepperoni Pizza, Taco Bell Taco Salad, KFC original recipe, spaghetti with sausage, and a really good spinach salad. And I'd eat it all reeeeeeeally slow.

Beatles or Stones? Beatles

If you had to pick one person on earth who should die, who would it be? Someone who's suffering really badly from cancer and has no medical insurance and no one who can help (per his wishes) to end his life.

The person whose problems you would never want to hear again? Nicole Richie's.

What is the thing most important to you (as far as physical) about the preferred sex? That they can laugh at me.

If you could have any super power what would it be? Invisibility

Favorite hangover cure? I don't drink enough to have hangovers anymore, but I used to take a lot of Tylenols and Vitamin Cs.

How many drinks does it take to get you drunk? Depends what kind of drink. But at least five within an hour.

Favorite Outkast lyric? Okay, I only know that one song, plus one from the TombRaider soundtrack - I don't know any specific lyric. I'm 37, People.

Hair color you most like someone you're dating to have? Well that will now and forever be Red.

If you had to be blind or deaf? Then I would be really really unhappy.

Person you most wish you hadn't made out with? Oh man I just strained my brain trying to go through all the men I've made out with. Making out is fun. Why regret it?

If you are straight, what person of the same sex would you do it with? Jodie Foster

Where do you want to live when you are old and brittle? Aptos. In a nice little house with peace and quiet and lots of books.

Who is the person you can count on most? My son Spike.

If you could date any celebrity past or present, time and age are not factors? Sting

What books have you pretended you've read? That is just ridiculous. I'm going to hunt down anyone who takes this quiz and see who's faking books.

What's a word you would use to describe your life? Whacky.

What did you dream last night? I dreamt our Sales Girl gave me her green convertible even though she thought her husband was going to be mad at her, and then when I test drove it it wasn't an automatic and the brakes weren't that good, and it didn't have power windows and I thought "well no wonder she doesn't want it" but still I was happy.
I was totally bummed when I woke up.
Also, that woman hates me in real life, she would never give me a car, heh.

Happy Wednesday!

Spike is in a school play tonight so I got off an hour early. Now we are sitting at home watching 28 Days Later and eating chocolate covered cherries.

Also, my personal time is about to expire so I'm taking off early every Friday for the next two months. Now I can beat the traffic on the way to Aptos! Yayyy!!!

Last week I got caught in some bad traffic on the way there, and because of the windy mountain road Scott couldn't get hold of me on my phone and was very worried. He had dinner waiting for me when I got there and lots of hugs too.

Average Joe

Ya know, I've got my own J-Lo ass and I'm proud, but if a guy EVER tells me I've got "some junk in the trunk" they're going to lose an eye.

Posted by Pischina at 10:41 PM

The Surreal Life

So did anyone else watch it? I have two comments:

1. Who would have thought Tami Faye could get any worse looking?
Buffy: "But mom, look at her EYES! Why does she do that to her eyes??? What's WRONG with her??"

2. Could Traci Bingham's breasts be any faker? And could she be more of a bitch?

Who would have thought I'd be yelling at the TV "Smack her, Trishelle! Smack that bitch DOWN!"

Posted by Pischina at 11:15 PM

"Faking It"

I finished "Faking It" and absolutely loved it. It's a girl book, it's light and fun, but she has great characters. If she wrote another book with these people I would definitely want to read it.
I think I'm going to be looking for more Jennifer Crusie books.

Amazing

I have one news flash for you:
Buffy cleaned her room!
ALL of it, completely, even her closet, and ALL BY HERSELF.
Those of you who haven't met Buffy may not realize the importance of this.

Okay, off to blow my nose.

How long is this cold

How long is this cold going to last???
I've been sick since Sunday afternoon, I've never had a cold last this long before!
At least I got a good night sleep finally, I couldn't hardly breathe the night before. But the snot is getting thicker and yellower every day - gross, huh!
I'm not sick enough to miss work, just sick enough to be miserable.
I'm tired of this!

My cold is worse today. Blah.

Calling all Sexy Mamas!!!

In honor of K-Lo I made another diaryring in Diaryland called Sexy Mamas. Cuz she and I are, well, Sexy Mamas. Or at least WE think so, and that's all that matters to get in. So if want to join, er... I don't know how to link it, haha, but in Diaryland go to diaryring directory, hit "S", then click on Sexy-Mamas.
Okay, that was my fun for today.

Feng Shui

Okay, so if you didn't know, because I never talk about it, I am very very into this feng shui stuff. It doesn't take much of it before you realize that at the very least it makes your house look nice and personally, it takes a lot of my stress away. I started getting my house done when we first moved in, but then got so busy with Scott I didn't have time to finish and then the house started slowly getting filled with crap here and there.
So it's a new year and we're starting over. We have cleared out so much stuff (you don't even notice piled up crap after it's been there awhile) and have rearranged things and put fountains everywhere, got a new fish for the entryway, getting rid of the old fish tank, I found some great windchimes at Amazon that I'll get pretty soon...

But there are two things I still need (or rather, would really like) to finish the job. Those little hanging crystal spheres, and some segmented bamboo flutes. Now I would think a little bamboo flute would be like $5 or less, but no, they are over $20 a pop. And the crystals are over $10 each. This is ridiculous!!!

So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good place online where I can buy these, or if you've ever seen any little bamboo flutes at a certain discount store near you? I don't know if those crystals are expensive just here in California, La-La Land... maybe they sell them cheap in Kansas?

If anyone can get either of those things for me cheap, I'll be happy to pay you!!

Okay, by "good", I mean "funny", okay?

Britney Spears got married Saturday????
Sound like she may have been drinking a bit much...
I checked today's date, it's not April 1st!

Happy Sunday

Good morning! Today is going to be a relaxing day, probably clean up some more stuff, still have to get the old fish tank out of here, clean out a couple corners, then we have to pay the rent and maybe go to the gym.
Otherwise, just sit here and read my new feng shui book and watch movies!
Happy Day!

Lord of the Rings #3

Okay I saw the flipping movie and it was one of the best movies I've ever ever seen in my life. I loved everything about it. I'll probably get the DVD. Honestly... It was fantastic.

But I still want to see Big Fish.

Posted by Pischina at 8:23 PM

Today

Well the house is almost cleaned up and as feng shui'd as it's going to get... for now... still have to take the old fish tank apart and get rid of it. Buffy emptied out both litter boxes and then realized we had no more kitty litter... after I had asked her specifically if we did and she said "Yes!"

AND, we aren't going to see Big Fish, which was the ONLY movie I wanted to see this weekend, so the only thing left is Lord of the Rings, which I did NOT want to see, I do not want to sit for 4 hours, and I did NOT enjoy shelling out 35 bucks to Fandango because we are missing matinee price by 15 minutes.

I know, I know, LotR is a great movie, it just doesn't interest me at all. I saw the first one, it was great, but I didn't enjoy sitting in the theatre so long, I didn't see #2 for the same reason, but here I am seeing #3. I'm just not happy.

This goes to show you how much I love Scott, that I would do this for him, heh, because I'm looking forward to this movie about as much as Scott looked forward to attending my sister-in-law's wedding.

Silly Kitties

The kitten loves nothing better than to chew on pieces of styrofoam and rubberbands. I just took a little pile of both away from her (again) and she started her Mewing/crying and then just left me to go look out the window. She's mad at me.
I never even knew you could find rubber bands in our house but this cat doesn't seem to have any problem.

Posted by Pischina at 10:45 AM

HEY!!!

Why is Big Fish not playing any closer than 20 miles from me?
WHY?
WHY????

Posted by Pischina at 10:44 AM

Good Morning!

My New Year entry, plus resolutions.

Posted by Pischina at 8:49 AM

Atchoo!

The only thing I really wanted for Christmas that I didn't get.

NO! Just kidding! I would NEVER have that in my house, *seriously*.

Posted by Pischina at 8:35 PM

Wrong, just Wrong

I'm not sure if this link will work for you all, but is this true? CBS is actually airing a special tonight praising Michael Jackson? I know he's innocent until proven guilty but isn't this awfully inappropriate until matters are cleared up?
I wonder how much the Jacksons paid CBS to air this.

Posted by Pischina at 8:14 PM

Happy 2004

One of our resolutions for this year is no more TV from 6pm to 8pm. Mainly because I am sick to death of listening to Full House and Sister Sister and Lizzie McGuire when I get home from work. And so far so good. The kids have been playing cards on the floor while listening to Dave Matthews Band for the last two hours.

Posted by Pischina at 8:09 PM

Yep.

I've known for quite awhile that if I ever get married again I don't want to wear a traditional wedding dress (been there done that), but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I've even looked into kimonos like my mother wore for her wedding (she got married in Japan).
But after watching Bend it Like Beckham last night, Buffy and I decided I will wear a red and gold Sari.
So yeah, I just wanted to mention that, heh.

Posted by Pischina at 3:07 PM

Surprises for Me!

The kids and I were sitting here this morning at 9:30 getting ready to go to the bakery and there was a loud knock on the door.
Buffy ran to answer it and it was the UPS man with a package!
She handed it to me, it was an Amazon CD-size box.
I was all mad thinking "That $27 book I was waiting for better not be this small!"
But inside was the Radio Sunnydale CD from a friend on a forum I like to visit!
Totally unexpected! It was a great start to the morning!

So far we've gone to the bakery, visited the pet shop and got stuff for our soon-to-be-new beta fish. They were out but expecting a fish shipment this afternoon.
We came home and cleaned out Christmas, set up our new stereo (the radio and CD player don't work but the cassette part does, HAH!) did some laundry and watched the kitties run around.

Now the kids are playing cards and getting along perfectly.

YAYYY!

Old Friday Five

I never remember to do these so I'm doing this one late:

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not? I hate to shop. I hate crowds, I hate walking around crowded stores, I hate parking and traffic. I like to know what I'm getting ahead of time, go to the store, get it and purchase it, and go home.
2. What was the last thing you purchased? For me? All those books from Amazon that I hope arrive in today's mail.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? ONLINE. For all the reasons listed in Question 1.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? I got One Dollar every other week. And I could not wait to spend it. Fortunately, in the late 70's you could actually walk to Albertsons and get some junk toy for a buck. Or if I actually saved TWO DOLLARS I could buy an oil paint by numbers set - Holly Hobbie and Horsies were my favorite.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? That laser level. I don't think he liked it, but I'm not sure. But there just wasn't time or money to get anything else.

Posted by Pischina at 7:59 AM

Friday

We're going to clear out Christmas today. I'm going to set up our new (used) stereo and maybe play Christmas music while we clean since we didn't get a chance to play any during the Holidays, and we'll probably eat more of Kelli's fudge. We'll go to the gym and the mall. And I'm going to hope Mrs.MailLady will bring us the Robin Williams DVD and all my books I ordered from Amazon.
As long as the kids don't fight and make me wish they were back at their dad's house, we are going to have a wonderful day.

Posted by Pischina at 7:44 AM

Happy New Year!!!

I am back! Somehow I made it home driving in the most insane rain storm I have EVER seen, over dangerous mountain Highway 17. Crazy. Anyway, we had a great New Year's, very nice, no hangovers, and now the kids and I are sitting at home doing family things - watching the 7th Heaven marathon, playing with the cats, playing cards, reading books and getting ready to watch movies ("The Truman Show" and "Bend it like Beckham"). Saturday Scott is coming back down and we'll go see Big Fish. We're going to the gym a lot this week. We're going to clean house. And we're going to love each other.
Happy New Year to you all!!!
