Gift Cards Rule

I found out I can use my Borders gift card over at Amazon.com, meaning I actually save money cuz there's no tax, and no shipping either. So I just bought:

The most recent Robert Jordan book
The Complete Illustrated Kama Sutra
Faking It by Jennifer Crusie
and
Feng Shui for Dummies
I can't seem to get enough Feng Shui books, I really love them.
And I still have $7 left over! I think I'll get a Pilates book next.

The Da Vinci Code

I'm reading the Da Vinci Code and it's really a great book. Dan Brown does some excellent research for his stories, and I think I like them more for what I learn than anything else.

I'm back from Aptos and NO I'm not engaged yet!
Just wanted to cut that off NOW since I've been bombarded by the question in Real Life already.
But I am still very very happy.

So I did, I got him the level.

Bad again

The quote from the Jeep came back.
Transmission: $2867.

I don't know *why* I don't trust this mechanic.
We're going to tow it back home and have Corina's buddies check it out later.

I have a car to drive, that's all that matters now, I'll worry about the Jeep after Christmas.

Posted by Pischina at 5:47 PM

The Surreal Life

UncleBob told me he was going to recap The Surreal Life again in January so I just checked out who the "celebrities" were going to be.
I have GOT to watch the show this time.
Tammy Fay Bakker?
Erik Estrada?
Ron Jeremy?
Trishelle!!
Oh this is going to be WAY better than those rotten girls in Simple Life.
Trishelle's going to be sleeping with one (or more) of those guys, guaranteed.
My kids will NOT be watching this show, heh.
Ohhhhhhh, I cannot wait.

Good Day!!!

Sue picked me up and we went Christmas shopping, then we went to get my car, it started up just fine, I bought a full tank of gas and off we drove home.

The car drove beautifully.

$1000, Baby. If I had had $1000 I would have paid that mechanic to do Nothing.
Otherwise, I was getting ready to have that car towed back home where it would have sat in the driveway until I could sell it to someone for way Under Price.

I am a happy happy girl, I have my convertible back!!!

Posted by Pischina at 4:19 PM

Disgusting

Trista and whathisname have sold their honeymoon pictures to the Star.
Looks like nothing is sacred or private to them.
I guess Trista better get herself knocked up pronto or pretty soon the cameras will be gone and it will be back to the normal life.

I cannot WAIT to see a Where are they now? show starring them, which will at least mean that we've been wondering.

Posted by Pischina at 4:10 PM

Time to get Ready

Just got off the phone with Scott, he's sooooo happy for me that the car is okay. He said it didn't make sense to him that it was suddenly broken and he thinks Corina's cousin is probably right. It was nice to have both of us laughing again instead of me being SO bummed and him feeling helpless.

Now it's time for me to take a shower and get ready for SHOPPING! And picking up the Convertible!!! It will be fun spending time with Eliza today.

The kids don't know it but I bought them a bunch of colored cookie dough, you just shape it into whatever and cook it and Wa-LAH! Cookies! I am going to wrap the box, then let them open it today and they can cook while I am gone shopping.

I think this may be a Good Day.

2. List your five favorite websites. Television Without Pity, Amazon, Diaryland, eBay, IMDB.

4. List your five favorite board and/or card games. Pictionary, Chess, Scrabble, Solitaire, Cranium.
5. List your five favorite computer and/or game system games. The Sims on PC, TombRaider 1 & 2 on PlayStation. Also Crash Bandicoot on PS... that's about it.

Posted by Pischina at 9:08 PM

Better...

The Jeep won't be looked at until Monday or Tuesday. So I thought I was going to be without a car for quite awhile...

But Corina just called me, she had her boyfriend the mechanic look at the convertible (because neither of us like or trust the mechanic by my work) and he says there is NOTHING wrong with the car. The car has been sitting for two months, and he thinks the oil had just settled to the bottom and needed time to go through the engine, which is what I kind of thought too. Now it's not making any noises, and yesterday it made a HORRIBLE rattle.

Eliza is going to drive me back to it tomorrow, then we're going shopping together to finish Christmas! And the kids and I get to go to church Sunday!!!

Hurray!

Posted by Pischina at 6:15 PM

Very Bad

The first quote is in.

Convertible: $1000

Still waiting to hear about the Jeep.

Posted by Pischina at 1:05 PM

BAD

Hey, remember how excited I was that I paid all my bills yesterday?

Today, the Jeep broke down.

Parked it on the side of the road, got a ride to work, tried to start the convertible.

Rattle-Rattle-Rattle

Needs new lifters.

Two vehicles, neither work.

Bah.

It just bugs the crap out of me every time I go to read Veruca Amish and see his blah purple Diaryland template. It's just not right! He needs a pretty layout with Veruca Salt and Amish Oompa Loompas running around... or something...

I FEAR: losing one of them.

I liked that, that was fun.

Stupid Jessica, Again

Ya know, I really liked The Newlyweds, Jessica Simpson's show.
It's possible she's just been sheltered all her life, and because she's pretty and talented no one's going to care if she sleeps through school and turns out dumb as a board,
And because she is beautiful, and somewhat talented, we forgive her and laugh and giggle as she bumbles through life.
But,
Recently she's been trying to parlay this new dumb-blonde reputation into some kind of Chrissy Snow act. On some horrid Christmas special the kids forced me to watch tonight she told the camera "Happy Easter!"
Oh Ho! That's funny! Jessica thinks it's EASTER, HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
Not.
Not funny.
Being stupid on purpose isn't funny.
She's just going to be acting dumb on her show for Season Two and it's not going to be as silly and entertaining as it was for Season One, it's just going to be dumb.
I really dislike her right now.

90 lbs?
I kinda doubt that.
Paris, maybe.
I think Nicole weighs a bit more.

Distracted

I really want to write about my son and how me makes me crazy, also how work makes me crazy, but I'm still hungry and Spike is sitting right here so I think instead I'll go get something to eat and then write an entry later.
I know, I am sooooo entertaining.

Posted by Pischina at 8:12 PM

From Catie Cake:

I thought this was just so funny:
"Secondly, I am sick and tired of women who keep their maiden names. Sue me. I hate it. It makes addressing envelopes a huge pain in the ass and also I think it’s just strange. I had a hard time changing my name when I got married, but I got over it. I really have no idea what the point is. My theory is that these women are a pain in the ass. They’ve got issues surrounding being married and the horrible old fashionedness of the whole thing and so they keep their name because they think it makes them more independent or better in a crisis or taller or something. Mostly it just makes them a pain in the ass at Christmas card envelopes addressing time."

I'll be right back...

I'm going running with Buffy right now, then I'll be back at the computer and I get to stay here all evening because my son is grounded AGAIN.
I think he's working on some kind of record.
Or he's very persistent in trying to make me certifiably crazy.
The computers Mine Mine Mine again!!!

I don't know, it was cracking me up.

My Color

This quiz was actually pretty fun and interesting, and the results are RIGHT ON.

you are deeppink
#FF1493

Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind. You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing.

Your saturation level is high - you get into life and have a strong personality. Everyone you meet will either love you or hate you - either way, your goal is to get them to change the world with you. You are very hard working and don't have much patience for people without your initiative.

Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.

VerucaAmish

I'm going to bed now but I wanted to ask if any of you could help a friend of mine.
VerucaAmish is one of the best writers in Diaryland and it's a dang shame that he's using that purple Diaryland template. He's too good of a writer.
So anyway, does anyone have any layouts handy? When I talked to him about it he mentioned this: "I've had dreams of having a layout with Veruca Salt chasing a bunch of Amish people and having oompa loompas be the buttons to get people to the guestbook/older entries etc." I'm not sure if he was joking or not, hee heee.
Anyone feeling creative at the moment?
Thanks very much.
